Hello there! I am helping a friend plan a wedding and would like suggestions for vendors in SD. We still need flowers, cake, and hair/makeup. This is for a December wedding, but we'd like to get the bulk of the planning done over the summer. Does anyone have suggestions for low budget options? Anything would help!
My mom does flowers in San Diego for a really, really low price since she doesn't do it to provide a living. It's some thing that she loves to do, and does well that has grown into a side business. She's been doing weddings for over 10 years. If the projects get too big, I help her out where I can. She's incredibly professional. I am trying to set up a website for her to grown her business even though she's not too worried. She's just worked word of mouth so far and works pretty steadily. Currently I only have access to a few of her pictures, but message me if you think you might be interested.
Also, VG's Bakery in Cardiff does tasty cakes, as does The Living Room Coffeehouse (six locations in San Diego and INCREIBLE flavors). Google them.
PS I'm not offended if you don't want to go that direction. Just thought I threw it out there. I'm not here to promote her business but I think she's amazing... and I'm picky!
I recently wrote about several couples in San Diego who have used Organic Elements for their flower - http://realgreenweddings.blogspot.com/ - they seem to do an amazing (and eco-friendly) job.

I used Elegance Gourmet Wedding Cakes for my wedding and Highly recommend them. Olive, the owner, is a sweetheart and her cakes are DELICIOUS. She only works with whipped cream frosting (which happens my favorite) so if you want something different she wouldn't be your gal. Oh...and the best part is that her cakes are very affordable.
Flour Power in El Cajon came with my wedding package at my A+ reception venue. I did a tasting and was impressed. They have my highly detailed vision, and am completely relaxed using them.
