I know we have quite a few Bees in the San Fran area who may be able to give you some suggestions. I am curious to hear too since I love seeing San Francisco courthouse elopements.

Beautiful location!  My sister got married at city hall in 2011.  🙂

I would be happy to give some restaurant suggestions.  What do you like?  Cuisine?  Price? Atmosphere?  Budget?  Number of people?  San Francisco is a foodie town so it is hard to go wrong.  Feel free to PM me with more of what you are looking for.

There was a great thread a couple weeks ago about SF:

Which area to stay in SAN FRANCISCO?!

If you want to go BIG, you could try for a reservation at French Laundry in Yountville =) But that’s really going BIG!

There are literally, hundreds of amazing restaurants in the city. What kind of food? What budget are you looking at?

Bloomspot has featured the Huntington Hotel a few times recently; they have a great spa and it’s centrally located. It has a funny name but the Diva Hotel is really nice too and pretty affordable though the neighborhood is not the greatest (but very close to the action).

Yelp is also a great resource, tons of Yelpers in SF!!

@BluButterfly:  Delfina has amazing Italian food but it can be hard to get a reservation; people like Flour + Water but I sometimes find it a little overrated. Some other suggestions at a reasonable price point: Frances (my new obsession), Marlowe, Park Tavern, Commonwealth, Incanto (italian), Foreign Cinema, Nopa, Nopalito, Quince (italian/french), SPQR, Prospect, Lolinda, Aziza. Most of those are “new american,” since that’s SF’s favorite type of food, lol. You can also check them out on Yelp or TripAdvisor. I highly suggest getting a reservation as soon as you can. If you’re looking for higher end, check out Benu, Gary Danko, Acquellero, Fleru de Lys. I mean, I could talk about food for HOURS, so let me know if you want more help narrowing down or want to stick to a specific neighborhood.

You can get a room for less than $200 in SF. Like I said, Bloomspot, Groupon, SniqueAway, and all those sights often have SF rooms on deals. http://www.7×7.com/ is the local “hip” magazine so that could be useful as well.

Good luck and let me know if you want any more tips or places to stay!

i got married at SF city hall! it’s so beautiful. we live in the bay area but we had our reception at the sir francis drake hotel so we stayed there for 2 nights. it’s a really pretty hotel. i also like the westin st. francis. the restaurants i was going to recommend aren’t really quiet but i was going to say scala’s, kuleto’s, wayfare tavern and farrallon (excellent seafood!). also check out the starlight room for drinks. i can’t really help with florists because my mom’s friend did the flowers for me.

@BluButterfly:  we got married in the rotunda and got some good pics there. other places are the stairs going up to the rotunda and you can go up in the elevator (which is also gorgeous) to the 3rd floor (i think it’s the 3rd) and take pics up there. this is the upper floor. it’s open so you can see it from down below on the ground floor.

before the ceremony, our photographer went up to that upper floor and took pics of us down on the ground floor.

sorry for uploading my pics to your thread. i just wanted to give some examples of places inside. you really can’t go wrong with pics there. we registered for the 3:30 ceremony and we were running late so we were the last couple to check in. they limit each half hour appt to 3 couples so we were the last ceremony of the day. it was nice because there were a lot less random people there when we were taking pics.

our reception was only 40 people so it was nice and small. 🙂

@BluButterfly:  thanks!

the starlight room is awesome! we got pictures up there too. the views are amazing and they updated the furniture so it’s really nice. almost all the brides who were at city hall the same day as us were wearing traditional gowns. i was worried too because i thought i’d be the only one and would feel weird. the couple that went right before us had a full on wedding party- 5 BM’s and 5 GM’s!
