I had a great consultation at MAC last weekend. I have to apply it myself, and she spent a lot of time showing me how to put it on.
I understand your fears!
I highly recommend a trial with my makeup artist, who is out in the east bay. I'm bringing her to my destination wedding!
She'll teach you how to apply makeup AND suggest what products you should buy.
Message me if you want her information!
check on yelp for a makeup artists. there's at least a handful and they all usually have sessions (which you pay for) where they teach you how to put makeup on.
I second with MissBanana - MAC is great! They will give you a piece of paper with directions on how to apply your make up and which color goes where. I would suggest taking your MOH or another BM so they can see how it's done and help on your wedding day if needed!

I am getting married in Mexico, but I'm TERRIFIED that I will hate my makeup. My trial is the day before my wedding, so if I hate it, I don't have a whole lot of options.
Can anyone in SF recommend a place I can go where they teach you how to apply your own makeup? I could seriously use some basic lessons for everyday makeup too.
