Spruce would be nice. Frances has great food but I don’t think you’d have the intimacy you might like. Quince is also swanky and delicious. Coi is wonderful but I found the lonnnnng dinner a little much, personally.

There’s a whole list of Michelin starred restaurants worth looking into. Starbelly, Foreign Cinema and St. Vincent’s are also good. What’s your budget and date? That will affect the minimum!

@MrsBee2B:  Are you trying to stay in the City Hall area? What’s your budget?

@MrsBee2B:  Cliff House! Its STUNNING! The views are just magnificent- would be really really special for a sunset dinner.

Honestly, my favorite restaurant in SF is way at the other end from City Hall and everything interesting. It’s called Kingdom of Dumpling and their soup dumplings are amazing. But I have a feeling that’s not the kind of vibe you’re going for.

Also in the category of probably the wrong vibe is Straw. It’s “high end carnival food,” and amazing.

My reception is being catered by Scala’s and they’re super fancy and the food is great, basically a mix of American and Italian.

But my favorite fancy restaurant in SF is a Greek place called Kokkari. Their food is delicious and I’m a snob about Greek food. 🙂

@MrsBee2B: you’re going to have so much fun! Lolinda, Cotonga and Slow Club are also good. 25 Lusk is overrated & overpriced. Are you considering a rooftop bar for a cocktail hour? JAKQ Cellars in Jackson Square does a lovely wine tasting & charcuterie + cheese pairing with SF Skyline views. Something to think about 🙂

@MrsBee2B:  There’s a billion amazing restaurants in San Francisco. Yelp is usually a great place to check out reviews too. My recent favorite has been Frances and I also love Marlowe. I thought Jardiniere was overpriced and stuffy. For special occasions: Gary Danko, La Folie, Acquerello, Fleur de Lys. For less: Baker & Banker, Foreign Cinema (also amazing brunch), SPQR, NOPA, etc. OMG so many foods!

My favorite restaurants are the little hole-in-the-wall places that are probably not the right atmosphere for a post-wedding celebration! But for fine dining, I wholeheartedly agree with the Cliff House recommendation! Very posh, delicious food, and AMAZING view of the ocean.

My fiance’s friend had their “reception” after a City Hall wedding at the Wayfare Tavern. The food and atmosphere was excellent!
