we are VERY excited to be planning our honeymoon (eeeeek!) but due to my profession it HAS to take place in August. We originally thought about Hawaii before settling on the all inclusive idea and now have a question about where to go. Obviously it’s hurricane season 🙁 but looks as if the Caribbean will be our best option. We’ve been looking at sandals but can’t decide on one – they all look amazing! If you can help that would be amazing! Well go for a swim up room and butler service too if we can 🙂
Things we would like:
good food! And lots of choice
a good atmosphere – doesn’t have to be party central but not lights out at 9pm
safe and clear wwater something/ somewhere to explore outside the resort
and obviously as much chance of sunshine as we can!
thanks lovely bees

There are a lot of great adult only, all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico.
On St Lucia I would recommend Ladera or The Body Holiday. Staying at Sandals does give you use of all three of their resorts during your stay on St Lucia, which is a good option as well. The Grand has the best beach of the three.

We’ve decided to do Europe instead of the Caribbean since we’re too nervous about hurricane season. That being said, you can probably get a good deal! We’ve been to Sandals Grande Riviera in Jamaica and we loved having so many options for places to eat, go to the pool, etc. I would suggest being on the ocean side, not the main house side.
Other places that have been suggested to us include Secrets Maroma Beach. I also found Excellence Riviera Cancun suggested in a magazine I believe. Or, you could go Pacific and look into Secrets Marquis Los Cabos or Puerto Vallerta.

We were just at Sandals Grande in St. Lucia for our honeymoon and it was gorgeous! Wonderful weather – only rained once or twice, and for 10 minutes at a time. There were a lot of young honeymooners there too; very easy to make friends (although Darling Husband and I kept to ourselves ’cause we’re like that). Grande also has 8 restaurants on site, although as someone else mentioned, Sandals has 2 other locations on the island and you are free to travel between the two and eat at their restaurants as well.
