We arelooking to book out honeymoon for July. Should we go with the luxury spa resort (in Mexico...dangerous??) or the sandals resort in st Lucia? Sandals has more activities but le Blanc has better food... What do you think? Btw le tic is cheaper by $500...

No offense to anyone going to Mexico, but I wouldn't want to go there even if resort. Go to St.lucia it's your honeymoon, splurge if you can :-)

We are frequent travelers to Mexico - we've been to a few places in Dominican Republic, Cuba and Mexico, and Cancun/Mayan Riviera is by FAR our favourite place, and the place where we feel the safest, actually. The security at the hotels is fantastic.

We have actually also been to LeBlanc Spa in Cancun - it was our first vacation together and we ended up there by a mistake of our travel agent. It was A_M_A_Z_I_N_G!!!! The food was incredible, the cleanliness of the resort was unbelievable, staff was very friendly and eager to please! We actually considered it for our honeymoon this July too but decided to go somewhere new and - funny enough - we booked at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian!!! We leave here on July 17th. Can't wait!!

We chose St. Lucia La Toc, so you know I'm biased!  Wink  I went to Mexico 4 years ago and got robbed while my luggage was in the lobby, so I'd never go there again.

@miltie: We ate at La Toc(french restaurant) twice as we enjoyed so much! Lol! We also really liked Pitons, Neptunes at La Toc and Toscanini's at The Grand! Also josie's cafe at grand has the best banana crepes ever!!!

@bobsoon2bewife9887:  We just got back from Sandals in St. Lucia too and had an AWESOME time.  I'd totally stay at the Grande next time we go (we stayed at Halcyon which was very nice but small) the food there was AWESOME.  Loved Toscanini's and La Toc.

@Stammie: I wonder if we were there at the same time! We got back last Sunday!Lol! I agree i would stay at the grande next time as well. However we met people who actually preferred La Toc over the Grande. I guess it is personal preference!

@Stammie16:  There was definately some overlap! 1-8 for us! lol! We did go see the Pitons,  MudBath /Waterfall/Snorkelling tour.  What about you?  I'm sure we would of seen you in passing.  Especially if you went to the other hotels.

@Stammie16:  Ditto, we were happy at Halycon but loved the beach at the Grande! We also loved the La Toc restaurant and ate there twice.

Be sure to also eat at the Japanese restaurant where they cook on the grill in front of you, I think it's at La Toc too.
