Sorry havent been but we are deciding between the 3 Sandals properties as well!
Based on reviews from trip advisor and speaking with a travel agent.
Halcyon: older, smaller, quieter resort. Beach is smaller and the water is rougher compared to the other 2 resorts as it is in a cove. Fewer restaurants However, Can play at all 3 resorts including eating at all restaurants. This hotel is the middle point of the other 2. It is around 10 - 15 minute shuttle ride to La Toc and Grande resorts. This one is most cost effective.
We are leaning towards the La Toc. My DH wants to do the Grande but i cant jusify the cost. I think the la toc will have what we are looking for. Nice beaches, more selection of restaurants and price point isnt as bad,
Im definately curious to read any reviews other bees might have!
We just booked Sandals St Lucia La Toc, I was looking at Halycon as well but it just seems older and the reviews arent as good as La Toc or Grande. We also chose La Toc over Grande because the price was better.
We booked the Grande! But only because our travel agent found us a really good deal that was within our budget! We have some friends that went to La Toc for their honeymoon and loved it!
Ooo...I am trying to do the same thing - Choose which Sandels resort to stay in. I've read reviews on trip advisor and lot of the older threads on the bee, and still can't decide!
You will have to let us know if you ended up booking! We ended up going with La Toc! I ll be going in April so i will make sure to give you an update on all 3 resorts!
We're booking Sandals Halcyon in January! I'm super excited!!! Did anyone find out any more information? I read that you can book a helicopter ride to transfer you from the airport to the hotel, but can't find any info for that on the Sandals website. Also - anyone know anything about the mud baths?
thanks!
We went in 2009, and saw all three Sandals, but stayed at Almond Morgan Bay, which is an all-inclusive near the Halcyon. I remember reading so-so reviews on the Halcyon, so that's why we ended up going with Almond Morgan and we loved it!
Also, we didn't end up doing the mud baths, but we did see people in them when were did our tour of the island through Cosol Tours. It looked like alot of fun!
I wrote a detailed review after our Honeymoon in hurricane season

We stayed at Halycon and were happy with our choice for the smallest ressort. At the time we booked, La Toc was actually slightly cheaper but we liked the size of Halycon and location better. Also, you can't get as many extra ammenities (i.e. butler rooms are limited) but no building is more than 2 stories and if you really want to splurge, Halycon has a cute little house right on the shore which is the closest room to the ocean of all 3 Sandals on the island. We stayed in a room with a great second story balcony overlooking the ocean. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions, we really loved St. Lucia but did a few things differently than the standard honeymoon to suit our travel personalities.
@Leonard2B: really? i have to look into that i though the price was better on the smaller resort. were going to book that caz then we can afford to upgrade and stay longer ; )

We are finally working on the honeymoon and are thinking about going to St Lucia and staying at the Sandals Halcyon. We wanted a AI place and one that scuba diving fees were included. We also chose this one because we wanted a mix of socializing with people and relaxation/some quiet. It's the end of October, aka enter of hurricane season, so we didnt want to go any farther north than St Lucia. Anyone ever stayed here? Thoughts on the location, food, worth the cost??
