Ladies, what do you think about the Sandals resorts for a honeymoon? I have heard mixed reviews. Has anyone gone to the Negril, Jamaica location?

If you haven't what are some suggestions? We are paying for our wedding and honeymoon and won't have a crazyyy amount of money.

    Thanks so much!

My DH and I went on our honeymoon to Sandals Royal Bahamian and loved it.  We only have good things to say.  We hit some bad weather due to a hurricane, and even with that we still had a blast.  I guess it is what you make it!  Sandals Royal Bahamian did seem to have a room for different budget levels.  We splurged and got a room with butler service and even that room was a LOT cheaper than other Sandals' resorts with butler rooms.  All in all, we just had a great time.  Loved the resort, loved the staff, and didn't want to leave!

Try doing a search - I believe someone posted this exact thread question not to long ago.

We've been to Sandals Negril before we got engaged. I would recommend it for a honeymoon if you haven't been to a ton of other places and don't have very high expectations. It wasn't the greatest beach vacation we ever had, but it was nice and pleasant.

We stayed at the swim-up river suite for the first three days, and one of the other older (and less nice) suites for the other three days. We had the butler service. If it wasn't for the perks of the awesome swim-up suite and butler service, I don't think I would've enjoyed it very much. Those really made the vacation for us. If you want to save money and stay at a regular room, I think there are better vacation options for the money. Maybe Hawaii or Mexico.

One reason to consider Sandals would be if you guys are big drinkers because of the all-inclusive factor. At least that offsets the cost of the vacation some.

My friend just got back from Sandals Negril and had NOTHING good to say about it. She is definitely not a high maintenance person either. But she said everything was dirty, people were rude and service was horrible.
