This is a great question as we’re looking into Sandals as well.  However, it seems like they’ve had that 65% promotion for about 4 months now.  I’m interested to hear others thoughts on this.

It’s not a usual sale but make sure you check out the flight info. Fi and I were going to book one when I discovered that our flight would be leaving at 6am but not getting to the destination until 2 pm the next day! We would have had over a 15 hour layover! This was for two locations, so make sure to check it out before you book. I don’t know if it was because of the day of the week we were traveling or if that is normal all around? Good luck!

You’d have to be careful about flights, but we booked our Sandals vacation through a travel agent, and we were told that if they have any better sales between our booking date and our departure, they’d lower the cost for us.  However, our resort is now sold out for the type of room we requested, so I’m glad we booked early.

I noticed that when we booked in March for our Jan. honeymoon, there was a 65% off promotion. There is still a 65% off promotion, but the price is higher (not much higher, about $200-400). We booked our flight in late Aug. and we would have saved a few hundred bucks if we would’ve booked in March.

We are going to St. Lucia Regency.

@upstatebroad: I agree. Make sure you check your flight times. We leave at 6am and arrive at 3:15 (the same day). There were a lot of flights that left at 7am and we would’ve arrived at 10pm or later.

@europomme: Our longest layover will be on our way back. We will arrive at 12am the next day. Going is fine because our layover is less than 2 hours.

Sandals is always having a sale. But if you book with a travel agent, they should be able to rebook you if a better promo comes along after you’ve booked.

Dependent upon the destination, the flights may be a bit tricky. From here in Ohio we can only get single connection flights that don’t involve an overnight on Sundays and Mondays.
