I met my Fiance online when we were both working for a national company. I was in Winnipeg, MB, he was in Montreal QC. My computer froze and I had to call Tech Support and he was the one who answered the phone. He made small talk with me and we both love Hockey. He got my staff number, looked me up on the database, and sent me an email of a funny sign he saw at the teams game he went to the night before. I wrote back, he wrote back, I wrote back etc etc, he added me on Facebook and would always chat to me there.
About 8 months later, I moved to Montreal to go to McGill University so I could further my career with grad school and still work fo the company. I didn’t know anyone in Quebec, so he said we should meet up, he took me or Coffee and Cupcakes and at the end of the ‘date’, he kissed me and we’d been together ever since.
He proposed last year and it was so simple but perfect. When I first added him on Facebook, his profile picture was him and his brother at this lookout over somewhere beautiful. I asked him where it was an he told me it was Santorini, Greece, where his parents are from. (He was born in Montreal to Greek immigrants). I said it looks amazing and he said ‘well, I’ll take you there one day’, and I thought it was an flippant comment.
Well last year, him and his brother went back to Greece to see family for a month. For the first three weeks they were there, I did some travelling around Europe with a friend of mine, not wanting to impose and I don’t speak Greek. I met up with them in Greece and had an amazing week swimming in the ocean, seeing the sights. On the last night, he took me out to lunch and then said he wanted to show me something, and blindfolded me. I walked up a lot of stairs, holding his hand and hoping I wouldn’t fall and then when he took it off, I saw I was at the look out and was so shocked I could barely speak, I couldn’t believe he remembere a flippant comment I made when I’d barely known him for just 3 weeks!
