My first post.
I am interested in a sapphire ring … have no idea where to look. I’d love it if everyone could post a picture of their sapphire ring along with specs, price and where they were purchased!! I’m leaning towards a peach/champagne or white sapphire … And who doesnt love ring porn anyways?!
I’m interested in a bigger stone for more finger coverage … Not a jewelry person but i want my ering to stand out as that will probably be the only piece of jewelry i’ll wear for the rest of my life!

Yellow sapphire… It is what I always wanted. Got it from a Jeweler in Houston it is almost 3 karats with diamonnd halo. My fiance plans to keep the price from me till after the wedding.

I have an oval cut ruby. Rubies are the same as sapphires just red instead of all the other possible colors. I wear a size seven. My ruby has a purple tint to it in florescent lighting. It is a 1.07 carat oval cut ruby with two round .3 carat diamonds on either side. My fiance bought it at a local store for about $1700.
I’m so happy with my ring. I told my FI I wanted a sapphire, ruby or emerald and let him do the rest. Good luck on finding your perfect stone!

1.87 natural, non-heated, non-treated Padparadscha Sapphire. The center stone is cushion cut to diamond specifications (not gem cut), and was sourced by a longstanding, very respected jeweler. The setting is an 18K gold Tacori setting in size 6.75.

I’ve posted this elsewhere, but here it is again
slightly over 2 carat light blue (also called denim blue) natural sapphire. High clarity (almost loupe clean). It was precision cut which give it a lot of sparkle. my finger is 4.5
I got the stone from Gene at precision gems, he has a similar one one his website at the moment. You can purchase stones from him to see in real life, then return them if they aren’t what you are looking for. http://www.precisiongem.com/Gemstones/rapidcart/sapphire.html He also sometimes has rough sapphire on hand if you are looking for a specific colour that you don’t see listed.
Richard Homer is another precision cutter who has some beautiful sapphires and a similar policy http://www.concavegems.com/query3.cfm?yVarieties=All&ySpecies=Corundum
and we had the ring made by a local designer <br />
It’s a more periwinkle and less baby-blue/turquise than it looks in the photos

SouthernHeart: My ring is custom, but the design is based off of a few different settings I saw, including this one:
I’m not sure of the price because my husband wouldn’t give up the details, but I do know it’s a 6mm natural sapphire (about 0.80ct I believe) with 0.15ct of diamonds in the halo and shank.
Here she is:

I don’t have a sapphire ring, but I love this thread! So many gorgeous rings!

SouthernHeart: I recommend that you go on pricescope and look at the coloured stones forum – they have 2 permanent posts about being new to coloured stones and trusted vendors which I found very useful.
Also, Julia B has some lovely peach sapphire rings on Etsy.
My stone is a peachy pink (more pink though) 0.79 ct sapphire from gemfix and cost about $700. My ring cost a lot more though because it was custom designed and hand made. The halo adds heaps of finger coverage.

stephfilly: There must be something said about precision cutting I guess(I never heard the term till now). The facets in that stone are amazing. I’ve never seen a sapphire look like that. I would have assumed it was a blue diamond. Gorgeous!

SouthernHeart: You had ask me on my post how we find these rings ect . Ebay is one place , I find tha untreated and unheated cost a little more , I think the more natural it is the better for me , my setting was my mother in laws moms first engagement ring ,that she had the stone taken out of , so I had to fix it plus get a stone . So making it from a heirloom is one way to do it . but check ebay for sure great things on there .

Thanks ladies!! Beautiful rings!! I’d still love to see pictures so don’t be shy!
Im so indecisive about what I want. I see halos and I instantly love them … Then I see some styles of other rings and lean towards those …
Does ra anyone have any lab created sapphires?
SouthernHeart: My right hand ring is a lab created sapphire from People’s Jewellers in Canada (Zales in the U.S.). It looks very similar to @Grafton86’s ring above.
Here is the Canadian link:
And the pic from the website:

I just bought it on sale about a month ago, and it came to about $360. Here it is pictured with my engagement ring and wedding band:

iPhone pics aren’t super, but I absolutely love sapphires and my engagement ring is a .50 carat marquise sapphire custom set on by-pass style white gold ring. I already had a small sapphire in a delicate gold band from Christmas long ago, so I plan to put that stone in my FI’s wedding band.
