I’m in the wedding industry and I think it’s very odd that she won’t even send you prices!  I know you’re a 2014 bride and her rates may change but not being able to share your prices so that at least brides know if you are in their price range is ridiculous.  I would recommend you seek out other photographers that you like.

I hope this is helpful.

That seems unprofessional. Based on that alone, I would look for another photographer. I wouldn’t want to work with someone unaccomodating.

@everyheart: +1

That seems very strange. My FI and I booked our photog 10-11 months out, no problem- which I know isn’t as far out as you’re trying to book, but still. And I’m glad we did, because shortly after our contract was signed, she rebranded and raised her prices for new clients.

@Excited To Bee:  I looked at her too, I love her photography style and I spent a long time browsing her blog before we booked our photographer. We ultimately booked Mustard Seed Photography, and I can’t even begin to describe how amazing they were – I can post some of our engagement pics and wedding pics if you want examples. The other photographer who we almost booked was Alyse French Photography. I think her prices are really similar. If you are getting anxious and need more recommendations, let me know, because I have a lot of other friends who have been married in Houston who hired great photogs.

@Excited To Bee:  Just clicked on the thread – I voted for Alyse French, because Kat (our photographer, who owns Mustard Seed Photography) has said she’s really sweet, and I think she’s incredibly talented – all of the photos I’ve seen on her blog are amazing. And also, the written parts of her blog are sweet – she sounds like such a cool girl. I think the photographer’s personality is equally important as their style – we got along super well with Kat (she and I have even become friends since the wedding!!) so it was a breeze working with her and her assistant, and we were very comfortable with them, both during the e-session and the wedding. Do you get a warm and fuzzy from your emailing back and forth with any of the photographers?
