@Hiswife2be:  We went shopping for IKEA furniture that day, and they had nothing that we wanted.  We had a completely empty apartment, and ended up ordering Chinese food and eating on a blanket on the floor in front of the fireplace.  He was sweating SO much, and was asking me all sorts of weird questions, like “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?”  It was so weird and awkward.  Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.  So funny and cute.  And he was sweating like craaaazy, lol.

@Hiswife2be:

After we were done opening Christmas presents & I had my back turned prying open packaging of one of his gifts on kitchen counter he said behind me on the other side of the room that there was still something in my stocking & I just kept working on what I was doing while he came up behind me & I turned around & he had the ring & asked me.  We had not discussed engagement or talked about rings, he did it all on his own but when I felt his presence right behind me I knew somehow, I knew what I was going to see when I turned around.  I mean I KNEW.  It was only a split second of knowing but I did, it was weird.  Maybe I knew because he had been acting nervous & sweaty & using the bathroom a lot all morning!  Paren’taren’t

@MsGolightly:  awwww!  Sweating, shaking, awkwardness – my FI too.  In retrospect that is what makes it so sweet to me.

We were at Niagara Falls (which is also where he took me when we first started dating to ask if I’d go on a cruise vacation with him and his friends), overlooking the Bridal Veil Falls, when he said “Marry me.”

@Hiswife2be:  So I am a kindergarten teacher and my ap came in and said she had to have a “meeting” with me and kept me like 5 minutes past when I was supposed to pick up my kids from large group.  I walked in and they were all sitting there and the music teacher said that they had been working on a song and wanted to sing it.  So they started to sing “You are My Sunshine” and at somepoint they held up signs that said Will You Marry Me and he popped out from a closet.  Seriously perfect proposal! And yes, there were a few eewwwwwwwssssssss 😉

@Hiswife2be:  I had a springtime picnic proposal in the park. It was exactly a week after my birthday. We were sitting under a tree and he told me to turn around and open the second container we had brought with us. There was a piece of paper that said “I love you”, and when I turned around he had the ring out and popped the question 🙂  We managed to drink some nice wine afterwards, in the middle of a public park, without getting caught.

What about you, OP? Have you gotten a proposal yet?

FI and I had dinner reservations at the CN Tower’s 360 Restaurant for a few months… had made them in advance as plans to celebrate 100 days smoke free (we quit together and said if either of us cheated, we would have to cancel the reservations).  So the night before, we went out and each got some fancy new clothes – he looked so handsome in his new suit!  Then we brought my dad’s nice camera and took some photos downtown on our walk to the tower.  Just below, we took a photo of ourselves with the tower behind us… I turned to head towards the entrance and he asked me to wait.  When I turn back around he was down on one knee.

He’s just the best 🙂
