I’m a 2014 Labor Day Wknd Bride, Sunday August 31st to be exact. Since it is a holiday weekend I wanted to send out Save the Dates early so family & friends would not book vacations for that wknd. When would be a good month to send them? I think January (8 months in advance) might be TOO early.

@SM_xo: Many workers are required to submit their vacation requests even before January. Our deadline is the end of November for the next year.
I would send them out asap after the holidays.

@julies1949: I never even thought to take that into consideration. Thanks!

@SM_xo: I am July 4th weekend and we already sent ours out. I think January would be a perfect time!

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
@SM_xo: I would have sent them at the one year mark so get them in the mail ASAP. Also, I would make sure to list the wedding date as “Sunday, August 31, 2014” so there is no confusion about it being a Sunday wedding.

@SM_xo: I sent mine for my May 2014 long weekend as soon as the venue was booked -early in August, so about 9 months in advance. If people have to travel it’s good to give them lots of notice. I’ll be booking my vacation for 2014 on the 4th of January, so I’d want to know asap. (my old job we booked in November for the next year)

@beachbride1216: I just got enagegd on October 27 so we won’t even be engaged for a year by the time it is actually here so I guess I never even thought about it but now that we booked the venue last week, save the dates will be ordered tonight!

Our wedding is a few days before Christmas and we sent save the dates 6 months prior. It was plenty of time.
