@Lency: Just a quick note to tell you that I think your idea is absolutely wonderful. Have you thought about using vintage sheet music anywhere? I used to do Lindy Hop in San Francisco and absolutely love vintage jazz music. 🙂

@sfchick: do you happen to know where to find vintage sheet music? I’m the bay area and I’ve been looking on craigslist but I don’t know where else to look. Our theme is music and I’ve been just printing sheet music on paper up until now

@arenyth: You’ll probably have a difficult time as people who do snag great authentic pieces tend to hold onto them or they get sold at high prices. The music historians I know and the archival groups I’ve worked with hold dearly onto what they can find.

I would just tea-stain any music you print out and call it a day. I would be terrified about over exposing any sheet music to UV (not knowing it’s previous levels) or flame or food.

@Lency:  Are you going to be including the dancers at all in it? Some pictures of Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers are avaliable now and would probably make a great base for the STDs. We’re using some of his dancers as well as other iconic dancers (Jean Veloz, Dean Collins, etc) to name our tables. Finding individual shots is hard except for Frankie, Chaz and Norma but you are okay with group shots there are a few to choose from.
