Someone suggested a movie themed wedding to me, and as my fiancé and I are more into TV shows, I would love to do a TV theme! The closest I’ve found to TV save-the-dates are these Mad Men DIY Save the Dates: http://www.weddingchicks.com/wedding-chicks/diy-templates/templates/34970/mad-men-inspired-save-the-date-invite/
I love them, but to be honest, we don’t watch the show. I’m really not coming up with much else on Google. Does anyone else have any suggestions for TV-themed Save-the-Dates?

I think a TV themed save the date is a really fun idea! What shows do you and your fiance watch?

@miss.truffle: Oh, we love lots of shows! Chuck, Bones, Psych, Community, The Office, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, Glee, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Castle, The X-Files, The Shield, The West Wing, Gilmore Girls, 24, Arrested Development, and I’m sure I’m still leaving some out, lol. We need to narrow it down because instead of table numbers, we’re going to have each table be named for a TV show. For the save-the-dates, I’d also be open to something generic about TV, like the “as seen on TV” sign or a TV guide type thing, but I haven’t found anything I like and I don’t trust myself to make something.

If you want one for tv in general, maybe have an old school tv (bunny ears and such) with your names and date info as cast credits, etc. Or a photo of you two (bonus points for a vintage style photo if you go the ‘retro tv’ route) with the important info on the knobs?
I think there is a lot you can do with a tv theme! You just have to decide if it’s for one show or tv in general to be able to tailor it a bit more.
ETA: Just saw your 2nd post. How fun to use different tv shows for each table number!

You could imitate the networks when they announce a new show or a new season;
Coming soon a new reality show destined to be a life llong series!
Opening episode June 26, 2011
Starring: ________ and __________
follow the suggestions above and use a photo of the two of you photo shopped onto the screen of a TV.

@indibee: I love both of these ideas! Actually, I’d kind of like to combine the 2, using the network promo idea, but instead of a picture of us, just use a picture of an old-school TV. Now the only question is, am I skilled enough to make such a thing?

I think it would be cute to dress up like the lead characters and photoshop your picture into their set background, like the in the ad promos on tv or hulu. Some cute couples could be Jim and Pam, Booth and Brennan, Liz and Jack, etc… Although I guess a lot of people might not get it if they don’t watch the show. I think it would be super cute 🙂

I definitely used those Mad Men templates for one of the designs of our personalized water bottles. They turned out super cute. But if you don’t watch it, it wouldn’t make a lot of sense. I do like that they are subtle enough, it doesn’t scream TV. Also, I highly recommend Mad Men…if you started watching it, it would make more sense to use them!
Also, Mrs Parfait, made movie posters from their engagement pics that resembled real life movie posters. Maybe you could do something similar with TV shows? Incorporate TV themed things into your engagement photos maybe, if you are planning on doing them?

How about “Tune in on XYZ”?

I am having an “awesome duos from tv” themed wedding. We have all of our favorite duos. Our tables are named after the tv shows, we are having our guests sign a poster from our favorite show, and we are having themed cupcakes to go with each table. It has been super super fun planning.
