I think a tri-fold is a great idea. I also think you shouldn’t overthink on STDs! The time will come for that with the actual invites 😉 But I come from the “make stuff as easy as you can for yourself” camp.

I sent out magnet STDs and included a lil square note in the envelope… it had a lil extra info on it abt the hotel, just in case some of the guests wanted to book hotel and flights early.  My magnet just had the date, the city and a picture on it.

Edit: The magnet and paper did not push the stamp cost up.  Just an FYI.

I would just stick with a magnet. If you have a small guest list, maybe you could send a card to go with it? A tri-fold would be cute, but it could add up in cost if you have to send a lot out! Unless you DIY everything! But it would probably need to be a pocket tri-fold so the magnet won’t slip out.

I just sent mine in the envelope today… The magnets are pretty heavy if you add extra paper it might go over the standard 44 cents

This is what I did with our STD magnets. I also wanted people to have something to actually open up.

Finished our save-the-dates!!!

Mine were just regular postage costs.

I just put the magnet in the envelope.  For a STD, your guests don’t need a lot of “filler.”  And the whole point of the magnet is that they can stick it on the fridge and not have to worry about a bunch of paper hanging around for the months leading up to your wedding.
