I dont think so… save the dates tend to go out between the 6-8 month mark… May 1st would have marked that for you but I dont think its a hard and fast rule. If your worried about your VIPs making other plans around that time or you want to give them a heads up if they have to travel i say go for it!

I think this is a perfect time (6 months ahead) to send them out. We just sent out ours for our November 15th wedding.

I haven’t sent mine out yet for my October 19th wedding, but I will be ordering them this week.

If you can order them and get them out within the next 2 weeks, I’d say do it.. otherwise, it’s kind of close.

Can you do electionic save the dates, or announce to family/friends when the date is so they are aware?

simone_s:  My wedding is 11/7 and we just sent ours out 2 weeks ago.  People got them 1/2 days later.  I’d say you have time if you act quickly.

Yes, there is time. Just do them in the next couple weeks, as invititations typically go out at the 2-3 month out mark. I think you are fine at 6 months.

You have plenty of time. we only had a 4 month engagement, we sent save the dates out about a month in, just because lots of people would have to travel 6+ hours to get to the wedding location and we wanted them to be aware of the date so people to go ahead and make travel arragements.

you have plenty of time.
