The girl wanted a 10k dress and she expected her parents to pay for it. (She did not have the money to afford it herself). When her mother said that the limit that she could give her was 3k, the bride to be actually pouted and tried to get her FMIL to pay the difference. Seriously? If I was the FMIL I would be trying to talk my son out of marrying that girl.

Hahaha!  I just saw that episode a couple hours ago too!  She said she was going to "talk" to her man about it.  The girl had NO shame hahhaa!

Pretty much every episode disturbs me, I think this is why people watch it to see whinny bratty girls throw hissy fits.

If I was her mom I'd take her to Dress Barn and tell her to have fun.

This is the bride with the "fashionista" little sister, right?  She tried on a bunch of Pnina dresses?

Notice that she didn't buy a dress.

I went to a couture salon to try on a few gowns.  I found one I loved and planned on watching the preowned sites for it. Someone might want to try on a $10k gown with no intention of paying $10k for it.  :)

@Jeannine @ Small Chic: I think the girl with a fashionista sister didn't buy the dress because she said it just wasn't her, it was her 15 year old sister. That's what I heard before I stopped watching it.

The other girl didn't buy a dress because her family was pretty much like, "How were you going to pay for this? Because we're not." Which is when she said she'd go talk to her man.

@oona: Yes! That was the one. There are not many situations in which I can imagine myself trying to talk my future son out of marrying a girl. But, if I was that fmil I would be like "run, boy. run!"

@Jeannine @ Small Chic: I know the episode you are talking about. I am referring to a different one. But, yes, those women were pretty horrible too. I an totally see checking out a cheaper version of a designer gown

If I recall correctly, this girl also started to tear up when she was talking about how 'wonderful' her fiance is because he puts everyone else before himself...which I interpreted as "he gives me whatever I wants and doesn't bat an eye".

@amyisnice: If that was her intent then it certainly worked.

@KristenGotMarried: that sounds right, I remember her having very much a  "princess" attitude

Yea some of the brides on the show are ridiculous. Last night I was watching Randy Knows Best and a girl went dress shopping and bought the dress before her bf proposed to her saying she's obsessed with weddings and even booked her venue and basically planned the entire wedding before the proposal and would tell her bf - hey this is booked - you need to get on with that proposal. I think they did get engaged, but he broke up with her a couple months before the wedding and she had to cancel everything.

@amyisnice: I truly hope so. I mean, I really want to believe that it was all an act, but, sadly, I do think there are some women out there who are like that. I just cannot imagine DEMANDING a 10k dress and then, when my mom couldn't afford it, pressuring my FMIL to shell out 7k. Maybe I'm being too judgmental though

it's just amazing how much the dresses are! I mean you are paying for a dress you're going to wear for a few hours. Realistically how much does it cost for them to make the dress? a couple pennies!

@MissCallieJean: Actually, dresses like that, with complicated sewing techniques and embellishments, and expensive fabrics cost a lot more than a few pennies.

I saw that one last night! I think she planned on getting the rest of the money from her FI, from what her family said he gives her anything she wants. I also think she expected her FMIL to offer to chip in some $$ towards the dress also. I am glad her mom stood her ground with her $3,000 budget!!

but how much of that money is actually going to those people that sew them and how much is going to pay for the name?

@ms.walter: If she is like that now, imagine what she would be like in a marriage. Don't get me wrong...I grew up with a lot of stuff and I am pretty spoiled. Also, when my bf asked me about rings, I wasn't shy about showing him what I liked. But this girls was crazy demanding. I find it hard to imagine that she would ever be much of a "team player" in a marriage.

I've really started to watch that show less and less because they're getting a lot of dramatic "princess" types. Yes, there have always been some but started to feel like it was ALWAYS the "I want a $24584651515 dress. Uh...bring back the sweet stories and I'll watch again.

P.S. My mother would have laughed in my face if I had acted like that girl. Psh.

@Ugoob: Yes and the worst part is that you could tell that her family was not in a position to easily give that to her. I mean, if your father is Donald Trump, that's one thing. But I can't imagine asking for something so extravagant when my parents couldn't easily afford it.

@MissHoneyBun: He totally wins. I think it's way creepy that she would even need to be reminded or that another family member couldn't say that, but hey. MAYBE it got the point across...though that is doubtful. I'd loooove to see my sister try that. ;)

@AmeliaBedelia: My sister is totally the fashionista in the family. She wants to be a designer someday. Maybe. She wants a lot of things. :D

BUT--she would never pull that crap. I guarantee she'd love everything I did.

Does anyone remember the woman who threw a hissy fit because her mom didn't want to pay for the $7K Pnina gown? She was stomping her foot and cussing on TV at the poor mom. She was bragging about how much money she spends on designer clothes, yet for some reason she expected her mom to pay for the dress. She wasn't that young either to be still mooching off her parents. Oh, and she had first hooked up with her fiancee while he was engaged to another girl. Pure class on that show sometimes.

I saw one episode where the sisters decided they were going to share a dress. I am amazed by that! I can't imagine that works out very often, I mean yea, i guess you could buy a more expensive dress, but you both have to love it, you BOTH have to be around the same size and you have to trust that it won't get dirty or anything spilled on them. Its soo crazy, I wonder if it has ever worked out for anyone?!

@jackndiane: I watched that episode last night!! She was such a SPOILED BRAT! And then after she made herself look like a fool on national television, she left empty handed! The other one that really bothered me that was on last night also was the girl with the sister Dana that was 15 and SO ANNOYING! The bride wouldn't pick a dress that her sister didn't like. I understand wanting approval, but come on! It's your wedding dress! Ugh! I had to change the channel that one annoyed me so much! LOL :)

LMAO. OMG, I thought I was the only one. I saw that episode with the 15 year old sister and I couldn't believe it. I was in awe "are you kiddin me??" As another poster said earlier "PA-THE-TIC." I used to like the show because I felt like they had real people. Now it is just the same archetype.

And don't get me started about that girl who tried on the 10k dress. Sorry but "are out of your F*in mind?" I was so glad her mom said no!
