ooooo!! that's fun! this happened to me too - i saw "bluenile.com" open on one of my fi's tabs when we were looking for a restaurant to eat at one night. i didn't say anything because i didn't want to ruin it! good luck! :)

At least you get a semi surprise, my boyfriend wanted me to pick a ring so I showed him what I wanted and he got it right on the spot... Now I have to keep it a secret from all our friends and family WHILE planning the wedding because we have our heart set on September. I hope he proposes soon, he's still aiming for some element of surprise but I'ts kind of comical.
Oh fun! I knew he had narrowed down the hunt (and which ones he had narrowed it down to) but I never saw anythng as definite as a spreadsheet!

Yay, thanks! I have no idea when it will be- obviously, the sooner the better! We've had some conversations about hypotheticals that make me think it'll be within the next 8 months, but I'm definitely hoping it'll be sooner than that. Today, for example, would be excellent!
He's definitely been talking about it a lot lately- asking me how big a stone I think is appropriate, and asking me to ask my girlfriends how big their diamonds are. It's so hard to stay calm and pretend I'm unphased when he brings it up. I try to act casual, but inside I'm just bursting with excitement!
@HappilyEverAfter54: Are you planning for Sept of THIS year? I don't know how you're managing to keep it a secret! Good for you!

I had to drop off something at my SO's office yesterday, and when I arrived he had his bank info and Quickbooks open. I swear, I wasn't purposely trying to look, but when the word "Ring" appears as a line item on his finances, how am I supposed to ignore it?!?
I didn't say anything, but I know I got a stupid grin on my face and I was incapable of having a conversation after that. I quickly excused myself and skipped back to my car.
No idea how much money was associated with it (so I don't know if he's just started saving or getting close to the end), but now I know there's definitely some sort of plan in place!
