Tomorrow, I'm headed in for my D&E. I know that it's a minor surgery, but it's a surgery nonetheless. I've never even had so much as an IV before, so I'm a little scared on how I'll react to the general anesthesia. I'm sure everything will be fine, but keep me in your thoughs anyway! I'm a ball of nerves, but ready to move past this.
You got it Peas. Get some movies you've been waiting to see, a book or two, and when it's all over, just take up a spot on the sofa for awhile.
Will you be here tomorrow evening to update us, or not until later?
You'll be in my thoughts. Just try to relax and do something extra fun tonight. Tomorrow, just relax. I found watching all the Harry Potter movies to be a great distraction after I delivered Moose.
@2PeasinaPod: Will be thinking of you! I went thru this last August and the surgery itself wasn't bad. They should give you something in your IV beforehand to relax you. Makes you "not care". For all of my surgeries, I was given that a bit before they put me under. Good luck. ((Hugs))
@Quietserenity: I'll try to make sure I hop on to update you gals. My husband might force me to be a bum for the rest of the night though, so I'll do my best :o)
@TheFutureMcBride: I tried to guilt my husband into watching Pride & Prejudice with me. He said he'd set me up in our room...but couldn't guarantee watching all of my chick flicks with me...hah!
@creativeplannertobee: Thank you!
@Jenn23: Thanks for letting me know your experience. I told my husband that I'm not liable for anything crazy I say when coming out of surgery.
@2PeasinaPod: I'll be honest that it is a "strange" feeling to awake after surgery. But not painful. And it only lasts a few minutes. For the first few minutes you are just totally out of it, but it subsides after a bit. You'll be just fine. :) I'm having my 3rd surgery in 10 months two weeks from today. (two ovarian cysts removed) I'm becoming quite the pro at surgery! Just rest tomorrow afterwards and by Saturday you should feel good. :)
@2PeasinaPod: Oh my God, I tried to get DH to sit down for P&P, and he said straight out "Babe, I have a penis. That means that movie is off the books."
If you're not feeling like giving an update that day, for whatever reason, we'll be here when you do feel up to it, so don't stress about it. I'll keep praying for you guys regadless :)
Good luck!
I know any surgery is scary, but luckily this one should be very short and easy. When I had mine done the nurses were awesome and told me everything that was going to happen to me like a million times so there were no surprises, they'll probably do that for you too. Both times I was ready to leave pretty quickly after it, they make you pee, eat, and drink something and I had no problems with any of that and just wanted out of there.
Love and prayers for rest and recovery coming your way. Your hubby is still awesome!
@KendallR10: It's a Dialation and Evacuation. They're also called D&Cs, that stands for Dialation and Curettage. The D&E uses a vacuum to pull the embryo out while a D&C uses a cutting tool to cut and scrape it out. It's due to my missed miscarriage, so my body will still think I'm pregnant even though the baby doesn't have a heartbeat until I have the procedure. It missed the point to miscarry the baby.
Thanks everyone else for keeping me in your thoughts! I so appreciate it!
@Quietserenity: LOL I think my husband feels the same about P&P and I just LOVE it.
@2PeasinaPod: I will be thinking of you. Good luck tomorrow.
@2PeasinaPod: I will be thinking of you and will say some prayers for you as well. ((hugs))
Good luck Peas, sending good thoughts your way, and hope that things are as uneventful as possible for you
