This summer I had a couple very minor procedures to remove atypical skin cells on my chest and shoulder (everything checked out fine!). But now I have very ugly bright red scars that will not be covered by my dress. I’ve been using mederma for several weeks but I don’t think that’s helped their appearance. Is there any sort of make up that will cover scars that you guys have tried? My wedding isn’t until May but I feel like I should start testing out my options. Thanks!

You could try tattoo coverup makeup – it looks like Sephora carry a few, including a Kat von D one which looks pretty good. I’ve seen them used in theatre productions and they work really well.

Dermablend. Great stuff. You can get it at Macy’s or Ulta–at least I think I’ve seen it there. Be sure to get the setting powder as well as the cream.

pumilionis: Amazing cosmetics has a great concealer that covers everything! It’s in a small black tube, and a little product goes a long way.

I also used mederma on an old scar…it took a while but it did eventually make the scar lighter after about 6 months.
Also, I second trying out dermablend.
