@Sparklepop:  Have you thought of taking  a course to get over your fear of flying, rather than letting this fear have so much control?

No judgement here, but letting fear have this much power to dictate your life isn’t going to get your far (Literally or metaphorically.) and will probably hinder any and all vacation dates with you & your spouse.

Definitely something you should look into working through (Which is the hardest part.)

I had a deathly fear of flying. The “Curl up and cry” kind of fear. My husband is in the Navy and flies for a living, so he told me I have no choice in the matter and that if we go places, I have to fly.

Sorry your fear is limiting your options, but you can’t let something like this control you.

Mr TTR & I are travel nuts, but neither of us enjoy flying.

We both have panic attacks when we think about it… and still somehow we manage to do it cause we realize that the pain is worth the gain of getting to go awesome places

For our Honeymoon we flew from Florida to San Juan, almost 3 Hours so we could take a dream cruise to the Southern Caribbean (7 Nights & 6 Countries)

The flights weren’t bad (no turbulants) and the reward was an AWESOME HONEYMOON… would do it over in an instant

As for your own Honeymoon…

It looks like your Wedding Date is January 2014… so you’ll be wanting to probably go somewhere to enjoy some great warm weather as well…

You say South Florida… how far south ?

We go to Florida often, and we very much LOVE The Keys.  Fantastic Weather in January when the rest of Florida might be more moderate.

OR you could do what we did 2 years ago… take a cruise to the Caribbean.  We went out of Fort Lauderdale, but there is also Miami, Tampa, and Cape Canaveral.

That year our cruise was 7 Nights, and took us to San Juan – Sint Maarten / St Martins – and St Thomas.  3 Ports of Call, so plenty of time for onboard pampering & relaxation… perfect fo a Honeymoon.

Next cruise we do out of Southern Florida will probably be to the Western Caribbean (or Western & Southern) … 7, 10 or 12 Days.

We cruise with Celebrity… part of the Royal Caribbean Group… they cater to a bit of an older crowd but the service & food are to die for !!  Definitely will make you feel like a Queen the entire time.

Other than that..

If you are looking for “cooler” weather you could head north… but bear in mind that January is the COLDEST Month in all of the Northern Hemisphere, so no matter where you go, things aren’t going to be ideal for being a tourist.  Lol, which is exactly WHY come January you’ll find me either in Florida or the Caribbean.

Hope this helps,

@Sparklepop:  get some anti anxiety meds from a Dr. I’m serious lol but I don’t want to sound like a pill pusher. I was on xanex and celexa for anxiety for about a year. I would only take the xanex when I was severely anxious so I have a ton if expired medicine bc my Dr prescribed me to take it 1x daily, but I only took it as needed. The xanex really helps you to relax and takes the edge off.
