Oh I hate ALL scary movies!!!
I know what you did last summer is too scary for me lol. I can't even watch Law & Order or CSI at night if I'm home alone.
<--- biggest baby. EVER.
I love scary movies, as long as they are scary as in ghosts, creepy stuff, etc. haha. NO torture. I haven't seen any of the saw movies. I just can't deal with that stuff. eeeeeeeeeeeeek!
I'm SO scared of Freddy movies. I have this irrational fear of him, like he's real. Don't ask haha. But I have nightmares with him in them at least once every couple months. It's insane!
i can't do scary movies either! i think i must have been scarred as a child- i remember catching parts of Chucky when i was younger and that has totally thrown me off clowns. HATE clowns.
okay i sooo want to see the movie paranormal activity! i saw the preview and was like OMG!!
I'm a horror-movie fanatic! LOVE them! Big fan of 80's horror, anything cheesy, traditional slasher, paranormal, etc. There are few I haven't seen! I'm the weird girl that will sit around by herself with the lights off late at night watching horror movie after horror movie ;D The only genres I don't like are the new Saw/Hostel style pure-gore films and most of the end of the world genre/end of the world with zombies genre (unless it's cheesy or funny, because I loved Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, whatnot!). I can't stand end-of-days films. Oh and japanese horror, can be waaay too out there for me- kinda like the classic concepts with new twists!
On a side note, I hate chick flicks- if it's sappy or romantic, you can't drag me into the theater! BUT, FI LOVES chick flicks, and hates horror movies heh, so it works out ;D
Where is hotchildinthecity? She has a whole scary movie blog! I think it's more specific than that, though. Here it is: http://the-scream-queen.blogspot.com
lol hotchild's blog is fantastic (if you like that sort of thing). I get spooked pretty easily though
i get spooked pretty easily now as well so it's strange that i want to see paranormal activity but i mean it just looks like it rocks and i love the concept of the public being able to vote to see a movie in the theatre.
I really want to see paranormal activity, too but my FI hates scary movies so I don't think I'll be watching it anytime soon.
I LOOOOOOOOVE scary movies. It is a sick fetish I guess. Anything ghost, creepy, psycho...you name it.
BUT.......
@honeybun ---- don't feel bad about your Freddie thing, I am the same way with Michael Myers. I am terrified while watching it BUT continue to watch anyways. My friends make fun of me around Halloween time. I had an ex dress up like him and sit in my door window until I noticed him and screamed. Sick & mean, but funny later. And I have the nightmares too!!! I don't feel so bad now.....whew!!
Ring freaked me out... like the first time i saw it it was just well freaky and scary and i was like okay i know it's not real, but better believe i was paying attention to the 7th day and making sure nothing crazy happened lol!!
@crebre - I want to see Paranormal Activity too!! It looks so awesome!
I loooove scary movies. Especially cheesy/crappy ones. My fiance and I love to rent stupid Steven King movies...they're always the best.
I am a pansy when it comes to scary movies. My roommate in college LOVED them. Her input on paranormal activity -- all the scary parts were in previews and the rign was way better.
Oh man I'm the biggest chicken (bok bok).
I screamed all the way through Bride of Chuckie.
Saw Paranormal Activity tonight- most of the make-you-jump parts were in the previews, and in my normal fashion, I read the full summary before I went. Nothing was unpredictable, but it was more elaborate in terms of spooky events than what I thought it would be- I kind of expected fewer and far between spooky things, but it's pretty kicked up 1/3 of the way through the movie and onward from there. I recommend it! Plus, it's actually pretty funny, as in, the audience got a lot of laughs because the actors are pretty funny. For a budget of $11,000, I give this dude serious credit! I heard it even had Stephen King spooked! NTM, my sister was practically sitting on my lap by the end of the movie, freaking the hell out :P
My fiance told me about Paranormal Activity yesterday over lunch, after I swore I wouldn't get scared by it. And yet, I find myself thinking about the scary things he told me when I was falling asleep last night and when I woke up in the middle of the night! I have a very active imagination. :(
@sarahlynne: I have an uncle and a cousin named Michael Myers!! hehe Luckily, no relatives named Freddy Krueger
Oh man, I shouldn't even be thinking about him right before bed - nothing good can come from that!!!!!!
@crebre80: The Ring totally freaked me out too! Made FI turn the lights on about halfway thru, and then made him go to the bathroom with me after because I was too scared to go alone. Don't know why, I mean the girl came out of the TV, not the toilet!!!!! LOL
i hate scary movies.... i freak out at the smallest things so scary movies im the hysterical woman screaming before anything even happens,.
took me 4 attempts to watch blair witch project - everytime it got dark i would run to the kitchen to do something and i had to get commentaries from friends watching it
@ honeybun- there were three things that scared me as a kid: the scene in Batman Returns when the penguin bites the dudes nose (ran out of theater screaming), Jack Nicholson as the Joker in the original Batman (btw, I love anything and everything Batman now, b/c I'm a nerd :P), and an X-files episode where this dude that eats liver and dead animals climbs up through the toilet. I seriously couldn't stand to sit on a toilet for like three years hah!
I'm SUPER excited to see the new Nightmare on Elm Street movie when it comes out though! They were showing previews during Zombieland, and while I'm sad it won't have Robert Englund, I think it will still be good!
I'm pretty much a big chicken when it comes to scary movies. I can handle the ridiculous/funny/unbelievable ones like Chucky or Freddy Krueger or Scream, but I cannot do the weird paranormal-ghosts-hauntings type! My imgination gets the best of me sometimes! My FI just made me watch the preview for Paranormal Activity on YouTube and I closed my eyes for most of it, hahaha. Just hearing the sound was too much for me, lol!!
The Strangers...I couldn't look out our backdoor at night for weeks! It didn't help that it was based on a true story.

I'm home alone this weekend since my guy is OOT for work. Tonight I'm bumming around the house, stalking the boards, blogging and online window shopping. Since nothing is on tv i went to check out OnDemand. About 80% are bad horror movies. I dont like scary movies but then I got really excited because I Know What You Did Last Summer is on. Perfect, faux-scary movie to watch on this night!
