Hello everyone! So I recently got engaged 2 weeks ago and we are in the early stages of planning our wedding. To make a long story short I have already asked my friends who I want to be bridesmaids. One of them might have her aunts wedding to go to on the same day I really want her to be there. Our dates are limited bc I’m a school teacher (have to plan them around my breaks) so I’m not really sure what to do. Her response was it’s my wedding plan it for when I want but again I really want her there. Any ideas?

Well… see if there’s another date that you can schedule it for if you really want her there. I’m a teacher as well so I understand. Is the summer an option? That would leave 2 1/2 – 3 months of off time.

Have you thought of a Fri/Sun wedding? It might still be too much for your bridesmaid but a possible option. Plus it could save you a lot on vendors!

Summer is a little too long away, we are waiting to move in together until after the wedding and want to start our lives together. We might move it up a weekend. Two weeks to wait till the honeymoon isn’t that bad is it?

We didn’t have a honeymoon at all yet so I’m going to say two weeks is definitely no big deal! Go for it if that will make you and your friend happy!

A two week wait for your honeymoon will be fine 🙂
We had friends who waited until 6 months after their wedding (mind you they travelled the world for the last 18 months).
We will have a very belated honeymoon – about 3 years, haven’t even started planning it yet!!
Is it really such a bad idea if you do live together beforehand? I personally think it’s better to, you need to know how you relationship will evolve when you live together 🙂

@Trueme: 2 week wait for the honeymoon is completely fine!
We waited 4 months to take our honeymoon and it was actually really nice to have something else to look forward to after the craziness of the wedding weekend.

Totally okay to wait 2 weeks until your honeymoon!
