Well… see if there’s another date that you can schedule it for if you really want her there. I’m a teacher as well so I understand. Is the summer an option? That would leave 2 1/2 – 3 months of off time.

Have you thought of a Fri/Sun wedding? It might still be too much for your bridesmaid but a possible option. Plus it could save you a lot on vendors!

We didn’t have a honeymoon at all yet so I’m going to say two weeks is definitely no big deal! Go for it if that will make you and your friend happy!

@Trueme:

A two week wait for your honeymoon will be fine 🙂

We had friends who waited until 6 months after their wedding (mind you they travelled the world for the last 18 months).

We will have a very belated honeymoon – about 3 years, haven’t even started planning it yet!!

Is it really such a bad idea if you do live together beforehand? I personally think it’s better to, you need to know how you relationship will evolve when you live together 🙂

@Trueme:  2 week wait for the honeymoon is completely fine!

We waited 4 months to take our honeymoon and it was actually really nice to have something else to look forward to after the craziness of the wedding weekend.

Totally okay to wait 2 weeks until your honeymoon!
