Weddingbee boards

Any of the San Diego bees feel like meeting up? I feel sort of bad babbling on to my single friends who aren't getting married about wedding stuff incessantly, so thought that if some of you were game we could meet up, exchange ideas, talk vendors and the whole nine yards!

Post if you're interested and if you have ideas of something fun to do or an event to go to!!

I live in OC, but am in SD often on the weekends.  I could always try scheduling a trip down if there was a meet up.

I don't want anyone to consider traveling too far until we have some sort of idea of what we're doing and a few bees that are dedicated to a meet...

My thoughts are of course we could hit a bridal store (or five), go to a trunk show if there's one in town, and I know there are big wedding convention-type things here from time to time, I guess I'll keep my eyes on the paper... we could always do lunch at the RB Winery, I think someone said they are getting married there (I would say the RB Inn for food, duckling, but I get the idea that could get a tad expensive just for a casual meet :P ) And of course there are like a million restaurants here anyway. It's not like there's a shortage of things to do.

I was hoping there would be more interest, but I think wine tasting at Bernardo Winery would be fabulous! Can you believe that I grew up < 5 minutes away from it and I've not been there to do wine tasting?

What about if we went futher north in SD and then OC bees could meet up too?

That would be fine too!! Do you have anything in mind, Miss Duckling?

That sounds like a good idea, and it's located close to the freeway as well which is helpful. 

Ooh I love the Carlsbad outlets!! That would be fun, I will double check my calendar but I think that works for me!

Hey!   Miss Joey is going to be visiting San Diego in April and I was thinking it would be fun if we could coordinate the get-together when she is here.  It would have to be a Friday night, because I can't get down during the week and she has a wedding on Saturday.

We were thinking Friday, April 17th at 8:00pm at Extraordinary Desserts in Hillcrest/Balboa.  She is staying in that area, so I don't want her to have to drive all over San Diego.  

What are your thoughts?  

Sounds good to me...yay we'll have two bona-fide bees :)

Should we wait for more SD bees to respond, or should we post on some of the other Cali/Arizona boards to see if any of them want to come out?

YAY!!! I'm so excited!!  I can get a post on the mainpage so hopefully a few more can join us.  Do you think it's easiest to make an evite invitation with details as well?

@LatteLove- we can definitely do another one in July.  Let us know if you need any help or advice in the meantime

@Boddy: That would be awesome if you could save some tables!!  I'll be driving down from OC so won't be able to get there early.  Do you know if they take reservations? 

We will wait for Miss Duckling's confirmation, but I would be happy to show a little early as well if needed to hold the table- I live nearby.

I will give them a call in the morning and then get a post written up.  If they don't reserve tables then I'll let Boddy and Miss Burgundy know so that maybe they can get there eary and save some tables.  I'm so excited! 

@Kendicles: We are meeting on April 17th...so could you do that date?  We'd love to see you!

We are all talking about the one in Balboa Park/Hillcrest on 2929 Fifth Avenue, SD 92103 right?  I think that is what is closest to Miss Joey.

Their website states that they do not take reservations. We can call anyway and see, but if not boddy and I can show up a half hour in advance or however far in advance we think we might need and reserve something. We should have a good idea of how many people are coming, though.

I tried calling and they won't take reservations.  So if you don't mind getting there early that would be wonderful.  Those pictures on the website are making me even more excited...so yummy!
