I was advised to ask for my dress shortened slightly so I wouldn’t have to worry about tripping on it or could kick off my heels at the reception to dance. I asked the seamstress, and she tried to persuade me longer, but agreed to do it shorter. Come to get it fitted before the lace is put back on and it was longer than I wanted and the seamstress wasn’t really willing to shorten it more, insisted it would be fine once the lace was put back on. Lace on…it touches the ground. So much for shorter than average I got longer than standard. My only option is to forgoe the shoes I already purchased and like for higher uncomfortable shoes that I don’t want to wear. So much for a comfy reception.
