Seamstress to alter a wedding dress or seamstress to create something from scratch?
Both, actually. I was speaking more to alterations but I think creating dresses from scratch is also an awesome idea and I don't know of anyone in SD that does that!
There is a little shop in Del Mar that I use to do all my alterations. Since I am short, I am always getting my hems shortened, and the prices are reasonable. The ladies there took in a bridesmaid's dress for me, and it was very well done (although I didn't like the actual dress!). I haven't bought my wedding dress yet, but they have told me that they can take it in and add a bustle if necessary. The shop is called Del Mar Tailoring, and it's really near the beach in that swanky area of Del Mar.
If you don't mind driving up north to Laugna Niguel-- go to Mahtab for wedding dress alterations... she is AMAZING... and SOOOO NICE. You can find reviews for her on project wedding. Here's her number-- 949-457-2270

Anyone know of any good seamstresses in San Diego? I've used a few, but nobody I feel comfortable recommending.
