I purchased this dress on preownedweddingdresses for 300 bucks. The bodice is slightly too big (it fits fine now, but I know it is supposed to be really tight for when it stretches out suring wear), and the bottom is too long, and would need to be taken up a bit.
What would you suggest? And would it be completely expensive to alter it? I livei n California towards the bay area if that helps any.
Thank you so much!

Yes, you can fix the dress. I am wearing my mother’s dress (on the same date at you!!) and I had to alter it quite a bit because my chest is a little larger than my mom’s. We asked around and found a great seamstress to do it. It depends on the seamstress as to how much it would cost, but I would expect at least $200. Remember you don’t want someone to do a half-a$$ job!
hope this helps.. and I LOVE your dress. Beautiful!!

What a beauitiful dress! Even with the cost of alterations you will still have a great buy.
The dress will have to be taken up at the waist seam s you keep the beautiful lce hem, but that’s a fairly easy thing to do.
You didn’t say whether it is a corset back or not, but a professional seamstress can alter this no problem.

@julies1949:It’s not a corset back, it has the buttons. Lol. I don’t know lingo. Anyway, thank you for being reassuring. I’m glad it’s not crazy to do.
