- Wedding: October 2012
so, possibly after the horror that was finding my idea venue all booked up(!!!) I may have possibly found a new place.
it’s close enough for both families to travel
it’s a pretty place I originally thought of a year ago
There’s nice memories between my Fiance and I at this place when we first got together.
I don’t think I would have to worry about being over dressed for the surroundings.
It’s a bit more costly than i was hoping.
They only offer ceremony sites,
strict rules on decorating the indoor venues
just strict rules in general!
ceremony sites indoors are either too small or just too big; there’s nothing in between price wise and space wise, so I will over pay just to have 10 or so more people there.
and finally, the outside is so much prettier than inside. but they dont have a good weather policy, so if it rains I am Shit out of luck. So I have to pick an indoor space.
Honestly I love the place, I’m found of the idea of getting married there. But they charge $900 for 3 hours in a place I can’t decorate. && if I’m just having a ceremony there, why would I need 3 hours? I know this doesn’t sound like a ton of money, but to my small budget it is considering then I have to find a separate place with a whole separate set of rates. the smallest place is 1 hour, $700, 30 people. Next up is the above mentioned site for 180 people. and then one for $1,000 for 100 people. They have my date available, I would need 50% down to reserve any one of the sites…It’s not so bad, but it just bugs me I am going to have to find a reception site and try to get the same date available there. I’ve found a cute little spot I would like to have the reception, but no ones contacted me back on their rates yet.
I really like this idea, technically I should be happy about it, but the money, always the MONEY! lol I think about it and it’s like “Aw, what a sweet idea, get married here, have reception here, it’s so cute!” but then I get frustrated over finances. I WISH someone (like I dont know, my PARENTS!!!) would help me with this wedding.
Anyhow, the place is:
The main attraction to the place is it’s beautiful gardens, makes me completely want to rethink my choice of a fall wedding and spring for summer! lol but…I always said I wouldn’t do an outdoor wedding in summer cause of the heat. and it storms a lot in my area in summer. Anyhow, I’ve ranted enough. Does anyone else have issues with strict policies at their venue? Is it worth it to look past them for the place you want? And, maybe I can splurge on venues, and skimp on other stuff?? I don’t know! So confused!
