I havent used this photographer, but Im constantly checking out his work on flickr and I think he does an amazing job. http://www.danielkrieger.com/

His wedding package is $3k, but you can probably talk him down a bit if you want to maybe get rid of the prints, limit the hours (he covers ALL day), but he also provides all images on CD for you which is really nice.

We’re using Jimmy Dee music and Fantasy Flash. They’re really the same place that does, photography, music (with DJ and lighting effects), and video. We’re paying more than 1K for our music package, but the photography is within your budget if you forego the album. I think you’ll get a better discount if you get all three instead of a-la-carte like we did.

Try Craigslist. Put an ad out for what you are looking for. With times as tough as they are, some vendors are searching out customers and are even willing to work for less money. It never hurts. 🙂 I love the all the vendors we got off Craigslist epecially our rehearsal dinner caters. They were the best. I’d use them again in a heart beat!

We’re using DJ Gaza for our wedding. He’s doing the music for the arrival, the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception (a total of 7 hours, plus set up time). He’s charging us $1,250 for the whole thing for a February 2010 wedding.

Hope this helps!

Depending on how many hours (10hours with tax is still be under $2k), Bill Walsh of Stellaview is good. I’m using him in May and I got great recommendations for him. You can find reviews on project wedding and weddingwire.

Videography can be hit or miss; even with price some are better than others. I would go with one suggestion mentioned and try Craigslist. Also check out the vendors on weddingwire and see what other brides have said.

Depending on how much time you need, try Colorblind Productions; Sound of Success is within your budget and has gotten good recommendations; or also do CL/weddingwire. I’ve found so many vendors through weddingwire/project wedding. I definitely caution to stay away from The Pros – too many bad stories – definitely a case of getting what you pay for.

They’re a big company that’s all over the US but we’re seriously considering ThePros. The basic packages are – photog. around $1500, Video $900 and DJ $700. They also have a deal where you get a discount for every additionl service you use – so if you use all 3 I think you get $150-$200 off the final price.

Bad news is that it’s mostly over the phone unless you go to a showcase in your area (which we did) but the rep we spoke to was great & she was willing to work with us & trade some services for others.

I would suggest that you try Tim Eng. I believe his website is in the midst of a redesign, but it’s still up and running –

He did my e-pics. Here’s a sample:

Check out http://www.travelingjulie.com. She did my e-pics and was soooo awesome. She’s also extremely reasonably priced — I’m sure she’s well within your budget.
