We are currently searching for a photographer, so I thought I'd see if you all have any recommendaitons.
We are getting married in Cooperstown, so we are looking at photographers based out of Albany, Syracuse and anywhere in between. We are hoping to keep day-of shooting costs to about $2,500 or so (wth albums and whatnot being extra), so someone who is just starting out but who has good potential would be great for us.

Although I haven't used him as a photographer, Josh Baldo lives in Oneonta and does wedding photography. I know him and his wife through friends since I went to Oneonta for college. Check out his website: http://www.joshbaldo.com/about

I'm getting married in September of 2009. We have booked Sarah Smith out of Albany (even though we're getting married in Ithaca). She is very reasonably priced for the quality of her work. Check her out at www.sarahsmithphotography.com. Also, be sure to check out her blog that is linked through that site. It has some more up-to-date work. Good luck!
He's two hours away but from what I have seen of his work and speaking with him, I would definitely consider Tomas Flint, http://www.flintweddings.com/. His work is stunning and I believe his packages start at 3K. He frequently updates his blog and is heavily connected in the photog community (he's now one of my Facebook friends ) We couldn't use him but I wish that we could! GL
You might want to check out the ISPWP website for New York photographers. The prices of the local ISPWP member photographers start at $2500 which is pretty good for that area, considering these are not new inexperienced photographer. Hope that helps! Good luck!
