My bridesmaids are wearing a beautiful color by Jim Hjelm called Irish Cream (in satin-faced taffeta) and for the life of me, I cannot find shoes that match. I found a color by Nina Shoes that is a shade or two lighter than the dress color. In some lights, it matches perfectly and in other lights, it is clearly lighter than the dress. The girls are all wearing different style dresses, some floor length, some tea length…and with the tea length gowns, the difference in color between the shoes and dress is much less noticable than it is with the floor length gowns, which are right up against the shoe. I hate dyeables! Does anyone have any input on this? ie…finding a shoe that matches more closely that isn’t a dyeable…or going with a shoe that is a few shades lighter than the gowns?

Have you thought about going with a shoe that does not match? My girls are wearing "pool" dresses (it is a turquoise color) with silver shoes. What about a pretty gold metallic shoe? If you don’t want to dye your shoes then you will probably have to settle for a different colored shoe or one a few shades lighter (and there is nothing wrong with that!).

I do think silver and/or gold shoes are fabulous with so many colors…and I think I know the pool color you are talking about and that will be so beautiful! However, unfortunately, with the color I chose, I think they both would clash. The color is almost like a deep champagne color. Honestly, I do think I’d be ok with the shoes that are a few shades lighter. I think I’m just being a bit anal. 🙂 So I’m trying to find out what others would think. Thanks for your opinion!
