LOL I voted that second option - I love caramel apples anytime of year - you could actually have them themed more summery by their decorations!
This idea is really cute I saw...'caramel apple cupcake'
So...I didn't vote. I love caramel apples, I don't think they are JUST for Autumn, but depending on where you're getting married, it could be too hot for something like that (fudge too, mind you). So, it's not a seasonal thing, just a not-hot thing.
Oh crap. I just realized you're in Michigan. Forget it. Caramel apples or fudge, or both would be fantastic. (:
Thanks guys!
@krissycake: The caramel apple cupcake idea is precious! Where is it from?
@mrs.deetobee: Haha- thank you for your input. Michigan can get pretty hot in August- I hadn't even thought about that!
I would love caramel apples any time of the year! I can never get them anywhere but the Apple Fest around here :( I always make sure to go get some!
@krissycake--those cupcakes look amazing!! I wanna know where they're from too!!
They are totally fine for August. To me they don't just scream Fall, but they also scream Fair Food (which I also love)! And most fairs take place in August, so I think they're perfect!
hey bees! i litearlly just googled 'summer caramel apple' and that was one of the images. as far as where it's from, it is tagged from cupcakeblog.com - hth!
I don't think they're fall only. I think of them first and foremost as fair food and that can be any time of year (except winter of course) and most fairs are in the summer. Caramel apple pies and bars and whatnot are popular year round. So serving caramel apples in August wouldn't be weird in the least. Go for it.
i vote you go for it! I would definitely try to take two of those delicious apples home :D
I loooove caramel apples. I'd say August is close enough to fall, so go for it!
I was the only one who voted that they are never really a good favor. Sure, some people love them, but others really don't. And if you have any older guests, I am sure their reaction would be that even if they are delicious, they aren't worth losing a tooth or a denture over. However, everyone loves fudge!
Could you just serve the apples at a dessert bar if you want to include them? Or do a caramel fountain with apple slices?

So I am getting married in August, but really like the idea of caramel apples as favors. Do you guys think that would be too much of a "fall season" thing to try in August? My mom does, but I think they might be fine. I could also do homemade fudge instead! Definitely want to do something yummy!
