this is also what we're planning to do...i would love to find a frame like this to display them but i'm not sure where to look...
That's what I'm planning to do as well- much less work than all those little escort cards.
My concern is that everyone isn't cramming around trying to look all at once.
I don't know if I'll make more multiple copies and place they around during the cocktail hour- or if I'll make is really big (like poster sized) and set it on an easel so it's big enough for people to read at a distance.
I'm also a little concerned that people might forget which table by the time they get into the tables. Thankfully I have a DOC and she'll have the table assignments and should be able to help with that.
Has anyone used this before? Did you encounter these problems?
Update: we ended up ditching the seating arrangement due to time constraints and reserved tables for immediate family and bridal party (no head table). Unfortunately our DOC was not in control and people sat at the reserve tables who were not supposed to = mess. Would definitely recommend having the seating arrangement done mid-week prior to the wedding day. I was so frazzled by the seating problems that it took me awhile to calm down, enjoy myself and take in the beauty of our reception.
I'm sort of doing the same thing. I have a huge poster board and listed by last name, first name are all of our guests.. the table they are assigned to.. etc. Then I have a huge diagram of the room illustrating where the tables are... I'm going to also have a few photocopies circulating at the cocktail hour.... each table also has place cards.... I'll probably email those I have their email addy for their table assignments... Our wedding is just over a month away and I should be finished with the seating chart by the end of this month. I purposely made the RSVP exactly one month from the wedding so that I'll have more time to do stuff like the seating charts, ensure there are enough favors, kids pages, etc. Pretty much all of our favors (Truffles in boxes) have been packed for about a month, we also have pens and bookmarks for each guests and all those have been ordered/made for a few months... I'm putting all of the items for each table into a box like tray with the placecard holders (I made little terra cotta pots w/a silk rose and a curled wire for each guest) - those have been done for months... I kinda went over board on the DIY but I had the time and enjoy it.

Hello All,
We are working on finalizing our seating arrangements for our wedding this Saturday. We are assigning tables instead of specific seats. We are planning on listing the seating arrangements in large frames near the entry way into our venue. Anyone else planning on using this type of arrangement? Would love some advice! Thanks!!!
