Our vendor gave us a diagram of our reception venue layout with the number of tables on it.  I went through and numbered all the tables then used excel to group people together in groups of max 10 ppl. and gave those groups a number for which table I wanted to assign them to.  We did this a few weeks before the wedding b/c we needed to know all our RSVPs to make sure we could fit everyone where we wanted.  It was difficult but you just need to dive in and it will fall into place.  Be sure you ask your mom and Future Mother-In-Law where and with whom they want their friends, coworkers, and family sitting and it will all go smoothly. 🙂  Good luck!

I used the program on theknot and I waited until I had most of my rsvp’s. No point in having to do stuff multiple times because people you thought would come, actually arn’t. I just have randomly assigned table numbers right now. I need to go over to my venue and figure out the actual layout.
