We are getting our RSVP’s back and have started to make our seating chart for our 150 guests. We are having a sweetheart table for my groom and I, then 3 tables for our parents. My parents at 1, his mom/step dad at a 2nd, and his dad/step mom at a 3rd. How did your parents choose who they had sit at their tables? It seems like there is no way to make everyone happy! Oh the joys of the seating charts – I was warned this was a headache. I am interested in what ther bees have choosen to do in the past, who are in a similar situation. Did you include grandparents, their close friends, aunts/uncles??

I asked my parents and FI’s parents what they wanted. My parents are sitting with three of their friends, my grandparents and our officiant. FI’s parents are sitting with their friends, and two of my FMIL’s cousins that she wanted to sit with.
I think its easiest just to let them decide, less drama that way.

I asked my parents and FI’s parents who they wanted to be seated with. My parents sat with my siblings and grandparents. FI’s parents chose to be seated with their friends (I originally had them seated with family). Both sides had a great time!

@lotto: @arabesque: Thanks – my mom is soo worried about hurting people’s feelings and including this person but not that person, etc.

@Sea_Ashley: Both sets of parents had an idea who they wanted to sit with. It was mostly close family (grandparents and siblings) and some very close friends. I’d just ask.
