Seating Chart or Escort Cards?

I’m doing escort cards because I got a good deal on printable ones at the crafts store.  I think either is good though.  I’ve been to weddings with both and I think they’re both fine.  As a guest, I just wanted to know where to sit, I didn’t care how the information was communicated.

If you’re doing a receiving line and/or have a big wedding – do a seating chart. It can take forever to find the right card. But if you want to know if most people have arrived before you enter the hall/start dinner then do escort cards.

I did escort cards. Just seemed easier than formatting a seating chart. I could easily replace one persons card rather than redo the whole chart.

I think it’s easier to walk by and grab your card (assuming alphabetical order) than it is for a bunch of people to crowd around a sign looking for their name.

Seating chart. We’re expecting 55 to 65 people, all family, that makes 6 or 7 tables only, so it will be way easier for us to just have the list of who’s sitting at which table (they decide of their seats, we only tell  them their table number).

I did puzzle piece escort cards, my guests loved them.

would you have space for a table to lay out all of the escort cards?  an easel with the seating chart would take up less space.

if you are one that likes to do things ahead of time, the escort cards would be better in case of a last minute change.  it’s easier to change 1 card vs the whole chart.

sometimes creative brides like to incorporate the escort cards with their favours.

I’m having 125 people and we are doing escort cards, we are doing ours as DIY theater tickets(phantom of the opera theme). For us it is easier and we figure we just have them go to a certain table and they pick what seat.

definitely cards for a party that size… charts are cute for under like 50-75 ppl but more than that and its just confusing and more difficult. I do like being able to see who else it at my table thought!
