I would love to do this - - I have to admit I am not much of a DIY gal but I would love to help brides that need extra hands. I missed the Oliver Twist meet up b/c I caught the terrible cold/flu bug going around...
Keep me posted I would LURVE to join - Count me in
Hmm...I would be interested. I don't have any DIY for the wedding, but am always under pressure to get out the next baby blanket, scarf, ect.
Depending on the number of people, we could do it at my house in Greenlake. I have two tables for people to work on.
...is it acceptable to hold it at someone's house? Not sure of the rules here...
@Greenbee, I think that would be a personal preference thing. I.e. are you comfortable having "internet friends" over to your house... Not sure though...
ooooh...I want to come! But I'm in LA :( and my wedding is over so I don't have wedding crafts :( (not that that in any way means I don't have crafts :-p)
Have fun!!
I'm not doing any DIY at my wedding (everything was cheaper to buy) but I'll totally throw the party at my place! I don't mind having "internet friends" and I love hosting things :)
I could really use some craft time and/or inspiration! I'm totally in.
I think this sounds like a lot of fun. Our DIY has been going in fits and starts, so I have no idea if I'd have anything ready to churn out at any set date, but like others have said I'm sure I'd be happy to lend a hand to others if I didn't have one of my own projects ready to assemble. I'll bring beer! :)
I am totally in. I need some help/inspiration or such for my fabric bouquets. The parts are ready but I've been afraid to commit and assemble. And I never mind helping other crafting. I love it!
@Mrs DG *looks sheepish* I so haven't knit since getting engaged... but i may just have to whip out some bright red baby booties for you :-) I keep threatening...
@ TPHoliday! :-) My mom always asks if I "feel safe" meeting my "internet friends" lol...
@Tali I'm most likely going to be making crepe paper and fabric flowers... I am totally down to help you with your bouquets!
When would work best for most people (generally speaking). A saturday morning, Friday night, weeknight? For me, weeknights are bad but saturday or friday nights work and saturday during the day works too... sundays are usually out.
I'd be totally down. I'm happy to help others though. I do have plenty of house DIY I need to get done. I'm only really good on the weekends. I'm pretty useless by the time Friday night rolls around.
I only have a couple of weekends available until the baby comes, but don't work around my schedule (since it's highly ridiculous!) Friday nights are usually pretty good for me... but maybe we can post a poll and see what works best for most people!
@ DG: CONGRATS! I don't know where I've been but I had no idea you were pregnant!!
@ Joey- I had the same reaction- I saw her at the meet up and couldn't even tell (she was hiding behind a barstool!)
I'm too embarrassed by my own attempts at DIY wedding-related projects, but I DO knit! Can I come and just drink and pretend to work on a baby blanket?
I would love a Saturday any time or Friday night. I am very excited about this. I'm wondering how much my family will make fun of me when they find out I'm doing a craft meet up with Bee ladies. :)
Thanks Joey!! We kept it on the DL for a long time, since it happened so soon after the wedding... but now a baby belly is just starting to peek out, and it's become common knowledge!
I can come! I obssess over crafts and am just wanting to bounce some ideas off people and work on my save the dates/invites/escort cards. I also want to learn how to fold paper flowers if anyone knows! I'm pretty free (undermeployed :( ) so any day is probably good for me. I'm comfortable going to someone's house but alas my apartment is really a micro-apartment.
I'll start a thread with a poll for some possible dates. TP and Greenbee- are you still intersted in hosting?
I am scared to tackle those tissue pomander things so maybe this would be a good time for me to try :) Anyone experienced in this??

K, so I have a rediculous amount of DIY/Crafting to do for the wedding. I am going to a friend's house in a couple weeks for one of her monthly crafting parties (yay!) and that gave me an idea.
How about coordinating a gathering up for those of us with DIY projects or crafting to do? We can talk, eat, craft, share ideas, ohhh and ahhh over each other's projects etc... I haven't figured out any logistics but I thought I would throw the idea out there. My future Sis-in-law and I did this over Christmas and we both got a lot of DIY stuff done in a short period of time.
Any one intersted? Any ideas about location? (I was thinking of reserving a conference room at a public library or is someone's apt complex had a clubhouse...) I dunno... maybe I'm just crazy...
