I am in need of some MAJOR help. I am having a wedding in the Tacoma-Seattle area and am in need of some CHEAP venues. I am talking $500 or less. I have found that small churches seem to be reasonable (around $200) for the ceremony and there are cabanas my friends/family can use for free in their apartments for the reception, but I would like maybe the ceremony and reception to be in one place OR just better options for myself. Ideally I would love a venue on the water, but it seems to be too expensive. Or possible with exposed wood/barn time of a feel? The price is most important. Thanks for all your help!

Hey amillardweiss –
I think you’ll be hard pushed to find a ceremony and reception place for that price at that time of year. If you were to head “out of season”, or possibly weekday at the beginning/end of the peak months, then you may get somewhere for close to your budget. How many people are you hoping to invite? Again – a venue that offers lots of included extras will help to keep it cheap – i.e. a venue that already has chairs/tables so you don’t have to rent those on top of venue space. You say you’re hoping for a $500 venue – may I ask your current total budget estimate?
All the best

Thank you for your reply! Honestly I have been doing a lot of research since I last posted and have talked with family about guest lists. Both have increased my budget! I need help with maybe finding a wedding planner so everything doesn’t go too out of hand! My new budget for a venue would be 1000 unless it includes more like tables etc. I would love a huge includes all package deal. I have talked to blue ribbon catering in Seattle and they have fair prices but not a good venue… Any help would do!

I would look into some parks like Golden Gardens or Discovery Park or Parson’s Garden 🙂

Hi there! I know that this is a bit more than you want to pay, but I know Emerald City Trapeze starts at just $2500 for 10 hours – it’s located in Seattle, and it’s one of the coolest buildings I have ever seen. They just finished renovating a whole new section, and they are going to be featured on TLC’s Four Weddings in August! You might want to ask if they have a lower fee for a shorter wedding!
*My friend got married there!

This is a way old thread but someone posted 2 weeks ago so I’ll add now…If it’s a small reception I heard the Meeker Mansion in Puyallup is $275 for 5 hours…kind of a victorian theme. Barn wise, I think in Auburn/Black Diamond/Kent I saw one called Mary Olsen Farm that might be less expensive

I choice her tiara but forgot to get her contact info before I left! I watched this seasons four weddings and didn’t see her. When did your friend get married?? Has it aired???
