Check out Lucas Mobley’s portfolio online.  I think he has focused more on his Facebook page.  I love how he shows these great action shots of happy guests who don’t seem to know they’ve been caught on camera.

He was beyond our budget but of the 200+ photographer websites I reviewed online, he was one of just three that met my artist FI’s criteria.  He could pick out photoshop effect errors from twenty paces.

Look at Colleen Carroll Photography.  She used to be a photojournalist so her focus is more on campturing the moment.  She’s based in Tacoma, but will travel anywhere.  She’s definitely within your budget too!

I wanted the same things as you, and found them in our AMAZING photographer who is awesome and wonderful.  Jenny GG.  And I’m not sure what her 2014 prices are, but our package is close to your budget…  but she’s flexible!  http://www.jennygg.com/

I’ve seen a lot of great wedding photos taken by Azzura Photography and Alex Studio Photography. I saw the people from Alex Studio at the Seattle Wedding Show. Their photograph & videography portfolio looks amazing! I’m not sure what their price rainge is since I decided to have a destination wedding instead.

I don’t know prices on any of these, but I like Kristen Honeycutt, Daniel Usenko, and Corey Parris. I met with Corey about possibly doing ours, and he is a really warm, likable person, which I think means something since they’ll be following you around all day. We ended up going with someone else who had a dedicated second shooter.

@jdhall89:  I second Blue Rose Photography !! That is who I am using! Brittany and Joe are really passionate and they care about you and your wedding.  Being that you will be spending a lot of time with them, you should really pick a photographer who you like and has great work!

I was in this exact situation about 2 months ago.  I researched vendors suggested by friends, our venue, and yelp, but they were all too filtered(aka “vintage”) for my taste.  I finally looked over some pictures I pinned on Pinterest when I was comparing venues.  I realized the pictures of my venue I liked best were from JennyGG, so I set up a meeting with her.  She turned out to be everything I could want in a photographer:  super fun personality, my style of photos, and in budget(packages start at $2650 and she’s flexible with them).  I can’t wait to have her capture our big day!
