Start looking for a new one… like now.  You could tell her the specific poses and pictures you want, but if she isn’t experienced then they are likely to be poor in quality.  Get a professional.  You only have one shot. (Sorry, I had to throw a pun in there.)

Is the photographer you hired a professional?  Do they have more than one wedding they can show you?

@sunsetproposal:  Can I ask why you didn’t ask to see a full wedding before you booked them? Or did you and it looked different than the other? Maybe I’m confused. How much was your deposit? If you really don’t like the images you’re seeing you aren’t going to like yours most likely so I may suggest looking for a new photographer.

Oh, no!

Before you cencel with this photog, make sure there’s one you like better waiting in the wings!

Keep in mid, though– we booked an “Okay, he’ll work” photog, his other work was just okay, and apparently he decided our wedding was the one he decided to overacchieve at!

How many weddings did you look at? Any chance you can try to talk to her – you said you liked her personality, so I’m hoping you coudl talk to her. If you could just explain that you LOVED her style when you booked her but are concerned about the fact that hte more recent photos are not the style you hope for. Maybe ask if that’s what the couples wanted? You can also save some photos that you like, and begin a list of must have photos.

I’d talk to them.  If most of their weddings and shoots are in the style you like, and just one is in a different style, it may be that that bride and groom requested a specific style.  I would ask to see more of the weddings before you panic too much 🙂

Maybe the other couple requested the photographers to do it in that style, if they commented positively on them? XxX

Just talk to her! You obviously saw photos you liked before you booked. Just meet with her, or send her an email, and say that while the wedding pictures she sent are beautiful, they don’t grab your attention as much as the ones you saw before. Then show her examples. Also, mention what moments are important for her to capture for you.
