I know I KEEP saying (here on WB) that I am fine with my shoes even though I feel like they don’t really “go” with my dress. But I think maybe I am NOT happy, really… I just don’t know. I know that I feel like since I already bought them AND bought dye to change their color, I should just stick with them.
Here’s the deal. I found my shoes at a thrift store for $6.00, before I found my dress. At the time I was looking at this dress and 99% sure I was going to buy it (ha!!):
So the shoes were a good fit, because they have a very vintage 20’s / 30’s look to them (bought in ivory, dyed to blue):
With the previous dress I was planning on changing the sash / ribbon to a pale blue one so this all went well with the plan.
Then I found and fell in love with what is pretty much a totally different dress, with the exception being that the dress I bought is also allover lace. It’s bright white and strapless, (going to convert to sweetheart), full a-line, with a long train:
So the bottom line is, no matter how I try to talk myself into the original shoes being “just fine”, truth is I really would prefer something else. I tried on the dress and shoes together yesterday and well, to me it was just a little “off”.
I am thinking I need something in satin or lace instead. I am not sure if I would go with white, or maybe pink or blue… but something more “bridal”. (the other shoes are leather).
Am I just being unnecessarily indecisive? Should I stick with the shoes I have or look around?
I spent about $16 on the other shoes, including the dye, and would spend another $5 or so on blingy buttons for them.
If I found other shoes, they’d have to be very reasonably priced. I am super budget conscious which is what is holding me back on looking for new shoes. Then again, the original ones WOULD get used by me for everyday wear, I love them, and can totally see them with my clothing that has a vintage feel (I have some 30’s and 40’s cut dresses and skirts and such)… so they wouldn’t be a total waste.
I would go with something with a similarly low heel (around 2″) but probably more like these, for example:
