I totally had second thoughts. But then I tried mine on again and fell in love. Go with your gut. And stop looking at other people's photos! :) Yours is gorgeous. And it's YOURS. Enjoy it!
i love that short, simple look. it's beautiful. that's a dress that i would personally get and wear. do u have a pic of yourself in it? that would help also!
I agree. I think everyone goes through a second guessing moment after they get their dress. I definitely had one! Your dress is super cute, though, and I'm sure you'll look very bride-y in it. Plus, you don't want something frilly and lacey and with a big, long train for an outdoor wedding, right? Your current dress is perfect!
P.S. It's so cool to see that you're from Red Lodge! I went to school in Helena, and one of my best college friends is from Red Lodge. Where are you getting married?
I LOVE that dress! I think for the type of wedding you described it will be perfect. Short dresses have always held a spot in my heart and I so wish I was wearing one (or could wear one for the reception). If you're looking to jazz it up, maybe add a cute white belt. I think all brides go through that "Oh gosh did I make the right decision?" phase. In your case, you have a beautiful dress and I don't think you have anything to worry about :)
I'm having second thoughts too- but my wedding is like 7 months away. I'm getting my dress custom made and a dress from an episode of a Disney Channel show is the one that is making me have second thoughts. Disney Channel?- I know.
I'm going to stick with what I have but its not uncommon for brides to have 2 dresses. A girl I went to high school with wore one dress for the wedding and the other for the reception.
Your dress is gorgeous!!
I think it's really easy to have second thoughts about anything wedding, but especially the dress, just because there are so many beautiful options out there. I had to make myself just stop looking at other people's dress pics because I was having too many second thoughts! Just remember that this is the dress you picked when you went with your gut, and you wouldn't want a huge frothy dress for an outdoor wedding anyway--it would get annoying.
If you want to look more "bridal" maybe think about a bigger veil or fancier bouquet? But this dress you already have is perfectly beautiful and bridal!
You're fine! We all have freakout moments and you'll look great in that.
I totally sympathize. I am having 2nd thoughts too, but that's because I ordered my dress 1.5 yrs before my wedding, right when I got engaged! It will come in about 1 yr before my wedding. I am just hoping I will fall back in love when I try it on. I think it's totally normal. Plus, if you do want another dress, you could get a long, more fancy one for the ceremony and wear this one for the reception, or vice versa. Either way, I think this is a very classy dress and I approve. :)
I think a lot of ppl have second thoughts! I know I did :) Its hard to not obsess over the decision and I went back and forth a million times, but ended up very happily wearing the dress I originally bought!
I think your dress is really pretty - but that said, if you feel like you might want to go a more traditional route, why not go and try on some longer dresses and see how you feel about sticking with the original vs. trying to find something new....if there is a sample sale, then you def. have time to get a new one if you want it.
i had second thoughts, especially since my dress was the thing we splurged on most. but each time i went back for a fitting, i re-realized that it was just what i was looking for.
your dress is gorgeous. its so beautiful for an outdoor wedding and you have a lot more freedom to spruce it up with some non-traditional jewelry and other accessories compared to if you had a standard ball gown or something, you know? i say stick with it :)
i actually don't have any pictures of me in the dress - i had laptop issues since i bought the dress - and the pictures i had of me at the store are gone. and i think part of the problem is that the dress at the store fit really well, but was just tiny bit snug in the waist. so i opted for the next size up. definitely a mistake - because the dress i received is way too big. so i'm struggling to recall why i liked it so much. it just kind of hangs on me... and i worry it's too much for alterations to fix. my first fitting is still a couple weeks from now. so if i took a picture now, i don't think it's a good representation of the dress.
for those who asked - the dress is by jenny yoo. she is actually having a sample sale in a couple weeks, so i think i'm going to go to that - i remember a few other dresses i tried on there that i really liked as well. one in particular was long, but still very simple (no train - so suitable for an outdoor wedding). if they have something i love in my size i can get it (pretty cheaply too at a sample sale!) if not, i'll consider that fate telling me to stick with the dress i already have!
@ mrs spring - i'm not actually from red lodge - that's where the wedding will be. the groom's family is from belfry, and they have a vacation home right outside of yellowstone near cooke city. the groom and i both live in delaware - but thought a destination wedding to montana would be perfect!

is anyone else having second thoughts on the dress they picked out? i am having an outdoor wedding and i wanted something a little less bridal than most people would pick. and i opted for a short dress. i LOVED it when i purchased it... and now i'm not so sure. maybe i should have gotten a long dress - so much more feminine and fancy.
the wedding is in 11 weeks, so it's almost too late to get any dresses delivered and altered in time. and i'm kind of freaking out. i could probably get something at david's in time - or i thought about looking at sample sales where i could walk out of the store with a dress - no delivery time needed.
but i'm also wondering if i'm just having a typical bride-moment? is anyone else second-guessing their dress choice? i feel almost silly telling anyone that i want to go buy a second dress!
