You can make the dress look totally different by what veil and accessories you wear. So that is where you can pick up the unique look. The birdcage veil is unique and you can add feathers to it that add color. I wouldn't worry about it. You bought it that day because you liked it enough to get it before it was gone.
I think it's a very pretty dress. I also think it would help if you stop looking at other dresses. Try to rememember what you looked like in it! Something clearly made you buy it to begin with, so I would stick with your gut!
amp: "I really like the dress and I know it will be perfect once everything is said and done... I think even if I did go looking for another dress, I would pick out the same style because this is what looks best on my figure...."
i think that says it all.. stop looking at other dresses. could you go over to your mil to try it on and take a pix in it? that might help you remember how wonderful you look in it / how great it feels.
It is very normal to have second thoughts on a dress. Breathe. The same thoughts were running through my head too and I felt great on my wedding day. With your hair, makeup, jewelry and bouquet, this dress is going to look even more beautiful ( it is already gorgeous!) You will feel better after a hair and makeup trial (and bring your jewelry then too!) Good luck!
The dress is lovely!
I want to see it on you :)
also, I would have to agree @mlkeysock that it helps to stop looking :)
i haven't tried on a dress or looked (beyond magazines!) at dresses since I found THE DRESS and I haven't regretted it! I am still in love with my dress!
Thank you for all of the encouragement, it really is making me feel better about my choice! My mom suggests that I go ahead and have it altered and schedule my bridal portraits, so I can really see how gorgeous it really is.
I feel 10 times better about this than I did a few hours ago!
I think I am going to get a birdcage veil, do you think that would look good with this dress?
It hink that dress is gorgeous! If you like it, then go with it! :)
The dress is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!! When you said that it was simple and traditional...this is not what I expected. I think that the beading is really unique and adds a special touch to the dress! As others have said, once you have your veil, accessories, bouquet, and hair-done...you will NOT regret your decision!
Ohhh and I also think that adding a gorgeous bustle (maybe french) would look SO beautiful with the dress for the reception!!! I really LOVE the dress!
I think everyone has second thoughts on her dress. But you said that if you had to pick another dress, you'd pick the same style over again. That's comforting!
I like your idea of the birdcage veil and I think that would help steer you away from the traditional like you wanted. And you can stand out more in your accessories (jewelry or clutch) if you want to go that direction. And given your December date, you could even go with a fabulous shaw or coat. So dreamy.
I too had second thoughts about my dress, but once it came in I fell back in love with it. Don't be afraid to love your dress! You were lucky enough to find it on your first trip out, and that is a good thing! And if you change your mind, that's okay too!!! Lots of brides do! If you can picture yourself getting married in the dress, and you truly feel like a bride in it, then it's the one! If you start having doubts, go try it on every couple of weeks and see how you feel in it! But you have to love it, not just like it!!
It's very pretty. If you "know it will be perfect" and think you would get the same stlye there is no way you can not be sure. If you didn't know it was perfect I don't think you would have bought it. = ) Make it fun by the accessories. It'll be great! Just stop looking for another dress! haha. That's what is making you anxious.
Why don't you go over to your MIL's house and try the dress on again? I bet you'll fall in love with it all over again.
Thank you for all of the encouragement! There for a while I though I was going crazy! I was thinking, holy cow, how could I not want my wedding dress? But it sounds like this is a normal feeling, so I'm feeling much better now!
THANK YOU!
I agree with everyone else, it really is a beautiful dress! Wear it proudly bc I'm sure you will look stunning in it!
the dress is gorgeous and vintage 2010 is right - you can totally change the look of a dress with veil and accessories. If you have second thoughts, try the dress on again and take some photos of you in the dress!

AHHHHH, I don't know what to do. I purchased my dress at the first place that I went to and I loved it the day I purchased it. I bought it at a boutique and they only have 1 of each dress and you purchase it off the rack. The thought of not being able to have that dress made me feel extremely pressured to make a decision at that moment. If I didn't buy the dress, then decided I wanted it a week later, it might not be there anymore.... So, I decided to buy it.
My mother-in-law took the dress home with her because I live with my FI and I knew if it was at my mom's house I would be looking at it constantly and I didn't want to get sick of it before the wedding. My MIL took pictures of the dress and sent them to my email and I just keep thinking that maybe it's too simple and formal. I was really looking for something unique and different than what everyone else has, but I've gone pretty traditional (and I'm not traditional at all!)
So, now I'm having second thoughts and I told my mom that I was thinking about selling the dress and getting something different, but she freaks out everytime I say it because she bought it for me.
I don't have any pictures of me in the dress, but here's some pictures of it. What do you think? Should I keep the dress? I am so torn, I really like the dress and I know it will be perfect once everything is said and done, but I'm just not sure....
I think even if I did go looking for another dress, I would pick out the same style because this is what looks best on my figure....
