That sweetheart neckline looks gorgeous on you!!! I would not second guess yourself. I really think you made the better choice!!!
I like the dress you got. It's very flattering all around.
I agree with BecomingMrsWoods. The neckline of your dress is very flattering. It elongates your neck and your waist line looks thin.
Thanks to you both! I just think I really like the neckline of the halter dress, how it brings more attention to my face-- perhaps because I am self-conscious of my arms. But, I really do like the idea of a train on the one I did end up with.
I like the first one you chose! I am not a fan of halter top wedding dresses. I don't feel as if that is in style anymore, but that is just my opinion. Maybe strapless dresses are more common down here in the South (Texas) because it is so hot down here...lol. But don't second guess yourself, the first one looks beautiful on you!
I love both dresses, but if you prefer the halter style---could you not talk to your seamstress about making the dress you ordered into a halter?
@virginiamarie that is a great idea! Do you think that it would look natural to add a halter strap to the dress? I don't want people to know I added it if I do... I want it to look like it belongs on the dress.
Thanks for your help!
Well they may be able to take material from somewhere else in your dress (some dresses include extra fabric when ordered, too). If you have a talented seamstress I think they should totally be able to acheive the look for ya. I have a sweetheart neckline that goes much too low, and my seamstress is adding a good amount of fabric to the sweetheart top to give me more coverage---it blends perfectly and no one would ever question it! I think if you prefer a halter style, it's definitely worth looking into... Be sure to keep us posted on what you decide to do!
I will let you know. I am still torn, but from reading numerous other posts, I suppose second-guessing your dress is pretty common. I just need to hear that I look good in the one I bought and that I DID make the right decision.
Thanks so much again, ladies!
Oh no! Here is the email I got back from my seamstress after asking about halter straps (and a corseted back):
I would not recommend a halter on this particular dress. You would need lots of beading on your right side to tie in the details and the left side of the dress would need lots of fabric to compliment the gathering details. It could be done but I believe it would be cost prohibited. - probably $300 or more by the time you purchased the fabric, embellishment and paid the labor.
I guess I can't add halter straps :( Did I still make the right choice? I do have time to order the other dress in on time...
You look beautiful in both, but I vote for the sweetheart neckline too! I especially love the skirt and it looks a little more flattering than the halter dress skirt.
I love both dresses and see how you are torn but I think the first dress looks beautiful on you.
I definitely think that the dress you ordered is gorgeous on you---if you're comfortable in it, then I would just stop worrying! ;) You'll look fab!
I think you made the right choice! Although both look fabulous on you, the first dress (strapless) is just so much prettier (imo). I think the beading on the halter straps of the second dress is too busy. The first dress looks more timeless.
@kelsidawn ... you're right! It is very common for brides to second guess their dress. That was what my very first post on here was about (and many others)! It's so hard to make a decision (and stick with it) when there are so many pretty dresses out there. Just remember that you picked your dress for a reason. Think about how you felt when you had it on. The smile on your face in those pics says it all!! I think the dress you chose looks beautiful on you! Great choice! Best of luck! :)
Thanks a lot ladies, you are really helping to put my worries at ease. I think the strapless will be more comfy, anyway. The sample I had on of the halter was too small, so I was unable to do the sit-test (which is important in a trumpet gown). Thanks so much for your support!
You definitely made the right choice in my opinion! :-)
I did the same thing with my dress! I was so upset for the longest time, but when I tried it on again I remebered why I fell in love with it.
You look great in both dresses so you couldn't have gone wrong either way. The dress you bought is beautiful :)
No way, the one you purchased looks so wonderful on you! Don't get me wrong, they are both beautiful gowns, but the original def gives you that wow factor.
The dress you chose looks beautiful on you!~
I love the original pick. I don't think you made the wrong choice, I think it flatters you!!!!
Good choice! You look great in both but I think your dress is a little more flattering!
Dont even second guess yourself!!!!!!! The first dress is absolutely gorgeous on you, I LOVE that style of dress, and it looks amazing on you. I dont like halter dresses anyway, but really, you made the best choice!!!
The first one is the better choice in my opinion. I think you picked a great one.

I ordered and purchased my dress in December to make sure it had time to come in and for the alterations to be done. I was torn between two dresses, but ended up picking the more traditional, formal gown with a train over a more modern train-less option.
Now that the dress has come in, I still love it but I am having second thoughts. I feel like I look good in both gowns, but the one I didn't buy is still on my mind. I always second-guess myself, thinking I made the wrong choice but I do still have time to order the other dress and sell my first one on ebay. So, ladies, tell me, which dress looks better on me? Am I crazy? Here is the one that I bought (strapless) and a photo of the one I didn't (halter):
Did I make the wrong choice?
