I just bought my wedding dress last weekend and I am already having 2nd thoughts. I went to one other store where I tried on 4-5 dresses and none seemed to flatter my figure. Then I went to another bridal shop where I found this gown that I fell in love with at the store. My mother ended up buying it but now looking at pictures of me in it makes me doubt my opinion. I wanted a gown real fitted and with a lot of beading but looking at it I dont know if it shows off my figure like I want it too. I ordered the dress in white/silver plus I am having them alter the neckline to a sweetheart style and add a shoulder strap similar to the one you see but in the same material as my gown. The shoulder strap you see is from another gown. Should I look at other gowns even though I have already bought one? Please help me decide whether this gown is the right one???!!!!
P.S. My wedding is an outside Garden Wedding in April!!

the dress looks great on your figure, I really like the strap. If it would be in your/moms budget to buy another dress then you can go looking.. if not.. you will prob just torment yourself!

I think you look AMAZING! I wouldn’t worry about it until you get it in and try on your dress. I think you’ll be so happy once you get it in to your specs.

Actually I like it better without the strap. It seems like you would prefer a mermaid/fit and flare better. This is a little bit of a more traditional look.

I say remove the strap, but otherwise it is GORGEOUS and gives you a great figure!

I think it looks gorgeous on you!

I think it looks gorgeous and is very flattering on you. That being said, I understand your second thoughts about your dress. I’m right there with you. I loved my dress when I bought it with my mom, although I didn’t cry like I assumed I would. Later that evening I was told some devastating news and now I’m having second thoughts about my dress. I’m not sure if it’s because I have this negative association with the day or if I keep wondering if it’s not my dress because I didn’t get emotional. Either way, I don’t know what to do. 🙁
But as I said, I think your dress is beautiful.

I think you look gorgeous in that dress! It definitely shows off your figure and I think it would be great for a garden wedding too!

I think the dress is very figure flattering on you! Personally, I would ditch the strap, but that’s because it’s just not my style.

I prefer it wihtout the strap, but it is pretty otherwise

Uff. I feel your pain! After looking at loads of dresses online and falling in love with (what I thought was) my dream dress, I didn’t have a shadow of doubt in my mind when I tried it on and bought it at the first store I walked into. Wasn’t until that night (and looking at the pics my sis had taken) that I started to really panic, feeling like something wasn’t quite right.
As luck would have it, I had to go to another store to get fitted for by Bridesmaid or Best Man dress for my cousin’s wedding and just for “fun” (I had already bought my dress!) I asked the lady there to pull a few gowns for me to try as well–this time I told her I had no idea what I wanted. As soon as I tried the second one on, I knew that THIS was the “real” one… and ended up negotiating a trade.
Moral of the story? This dress looks beautiful on you, but if YOU are not convinced, don’t torment yourself with second thoughts for the next months… go back and try it on again to “convince” yourself you made a great choice… or keep looking!

also, go back and try it on again, that might help ease your mind.

DO NOT look at other dresses! your dress is beautiful and looking at more will make you dislike your own. If you wanted something more fitted, ask your seamstress/alterations person if they can bring the hips in to be tighter. Otherwise, it’s beautiful.

I like it! It’s really flattering. You could always get it altered to hug your curves a little bit more if you want.
