So if your into this show lets chat about it :) What do you think about what is going on? Are you glad Ricky is with Amy? Do you think Ben should stick it out with Adrian? Do you think what Adrian is doing the right thing by trying to get pregnant with Ben again? Any other topics to discuss? I just love this show and need someone to talk about it with. Most of my friends dont watch it so yea lol. What do you think is going to happen on the next show?

I haven't had a chance to catch up for about two weeks (we are cheap and don't have DVR, lol) but both FI and I are sort of addicted to this show. We feel ridiculous being in our 20s and watching it, but hey. And he would die if he knew I told people this. haha.
Okay, yes I like Ricky and Amy together. They are a couple I am "rooting for." I don't think Ben and Adrian were meant to be together...at all. And her trying to get pregnant again is so not the right thing to do. It's the exact opposite really. They never should have gotten married. I think Ricky and Amy are more "legitimate" because they didn't get together because of John, but rather because it worked out that way, whereas Ben and Adrian are more the "we got knocked up so we're together."
Other: I don't like Ashley.

Ha ha - I had to laugh as I am watching this show right now! I guess I'm behind as I'm only watching the episode right after Ben and Adrine get married. I'm way to old to like this show, but for some reason I do.
I like Amy and Ricky together. I just love that Ricky is trying to be a better person for her and John. Adrian is really creeping me out. I think Ben is being really childish about leaving her. I mean, I know he's a teenager but he still took the "for better or worse" vows and at the first sign of problems, he ran. So cowardly.
Adrian is really getting creepy, for sure. And Ben has always sort of been the "easy way out" kind of guy. I mean, he sort of took the "easy way" as far as just going ahead and marrying what could have been his baby's mother, even though his heart wasn't in it. It was easier to just do it rather than face the other things. I don't really like his character...at all.
@flutterbi: Lol we probably all are, for all intents and purposes. ;) I feel like a creepy old lady sometimes saying I watch it. Haha

I love Amy and Ricky together! I love that Ricky denied Karlee in the office while he was trying to do his interview. That showed that he is staying faithful to Amy. I think that they are going to get married, even though Ricky says he doesnt want to. Especially when he kept calling her his wife in one episode. He loves her so much and its so sweet.
As for Ben and Adrian... Adrian is going completely nuts, she was before but damn! I actually was feeling really bad for her and was starting to like her. But when she called Ricky and left that voicemail, I was like OH NO! and then trying to get pregnant on purpose after all that just to keep Ben in the relationship is too crazy! Ben needs to stay with Adrian, like a PP said "he said the vows for better or for worse" so he needs to stick with her and make it work!
Im hoping Amys parents get back together! I think her dad really loves Ann and they are meant to be and all this stuff they have been through is making them stronger and love come back for each other.
As for Ashely, she needs a job and I would never just let her go like that with her friend and "travel" the country lol!
Grace needs to just be with her first boo (i forgot his name lol) He really cares for her and just loves her! He learned his lesson from everything and I think she should give him another chance. I think Grace is just having too much fun jumping from guy to guy!
Grace's brother... uhh whats his name (sorry keep drawing blanks) I think he isnt going to stay in the relationship with the woman and her kids. Thats just too much for him, but idk it could work out. Did yall see her in the hotel bar and graces brothers boss asked her to dinner... I think something is going to happen between them two. She is going to get a job somewhere else and be with his boss... just what I think is going to happen

Why do the guidance counselors always WAY overstep their boundaries? I thought they were mainly supposed to give you advice on school/college. Did your counselors in high school get involved in your personal life at all?
I definitely think Amy and Ashley's parents should get together and stay that way. The mom is so fickle though, much like Grace and Amy and Ashley and Madison...I think they should develop the female characters a little more! At least make them less predictable/one-dimensional. I realize they're young, but come on!
I have a weak spot for ABC Fam shows. The funniest thing about Secret Life to me is the dialog formula and how it ALWAYS repeats like this:
A: I was wondering if you'd want to go shopping with me?
B: why would I want to go shopping with you? shopping with you is the last place I want to go!
or
A: It really bothers me when you don't shut the door all the way after coming up the stairs.
B: why can't we talk about anything other than me not shutting the door? Shutting the door is such a silly thing to argue about!
Those are bad examples, but watch the show and look out for it if you haven't before. My DH and I always crack up because without fail, every conversation repeats and repeats and repeats the same words over and over!
I am also proud of Ricky for saying NO on the most recent episode! Less proud of Ben and Adrian.
I love this show and FI always makes fun of me for it... i'm 25 and he thinks I should like shows that aren't about high school...
Anyway, I love Ricky and Amy together and I really hope they don't have anything mess that up!
Ben and Adrian rushed into things for the wrong reasons and now they are dealing with the consequences but they are going about it the wrong way... I really hope Adrian doesn't end up pregnant again.
I don't know what's going on with Grace, but she needs to stop sleeping with everyone and poor Jack needs to just get over her.
Ashley bothers me, I feel like something shady is happening in Florida and she doesn't want to tell anyone...

@pinkpaperbride: haha I've noticed the dialog too, it sounds like a 6th grader wrote it at some points... Sometimes I just say "OK I GET IT!" That said, I did have counselors who did get involved in personal life when need be... I think the counselor just wants to help and she's not sure how to...
I am 33 and I love this show! I watch it every week. grace's first boyfriend is Jack - I don't like the way he treated Madison at all. I really like her.
Grace's brother is Tom and he gets on my nerves a little bit. Di you see the way his first girlfriend came dressed into his office!
I think Ricky and Amy are great together and i loved how he turned down Carlee in the admissions office but I think that is going to be the next big drama issue since he did sleep with her while Amy was away with the band program after he told her he hadn't slept with anyone.
I used to like Ben but lately he is just annoying! But I guess that is what happens when a 17 year old hasn't grown up enough to have a baby.
Adrian is just plain crazy!! She is planning something and I really hope it backfires on her. I can see her getting put into a mental institution or something similar. Where have her parents been thest two edisodes?? I understand she got married and moved out but still her parents should be involved in all this.
Well I can't wait to see the next episode!
Haha I love that other people watch this too! My FI is always making fun of me for watching this. He thinks it's awful but it is so addicting.
I too am rooting for Amy and Ricky. I think out of everyone, their relationship is the best.

I love Amy & Ricky together - I just hope he doesn't do something big to mess it up as he has in the past. It can never go as smoothly as it is right now though, or there wouldn't be a show!
I used to love Ben's character but lately he is just getting on my nerves. I loved the whole losing the baby storyline, but his character has just gone downhill. I actually love Adrian's craziness - I think it adds a different element to the show and I can't wait to see what she pulls next. She's bat shit crazy though.
Love Grant, can't stand the way Ashley talks, and I LOVE George!! Oh, but Moose is my favorite ;)
@mrscheetos: lol she does where a ton of lip gloss!! Everytime the camera is on her, Im always looking at her lips haha!
@notevenclose: Yes Tom thats his name! lol Omg I thought it was hilarious how his first girlfriend came in his office. I thought it was cute though because she was trying to be sexy lol.
@MrsMaine: I agree I like Grant, he is sweet! I cant stand the way Ashley talks either. She is just weird to me idk I dont really like her. I love George also!!! I like that they are making Adrian crazy in the show also! It makes it exciting as to what she is going to do next.

@pinkpaperbride: seriously, I think the whole concept of the show is so interesting! And I love Emmet... But it's obvious he is in love with Daphne (and that she loves him) they just need to tell eachother! But I don't hate what is going on with him and Bay right now either... I can't wait to see what happens next week!!
@o0olibelulao0o:I feel like if Emmett takes it any further with Bay, it would be weird to get with Daphne down the line? Obviously D&E are perfect for each other! Although I guess Daphne dated Liam after Bay did, but I think it's a little weird even though the girls aren't related. It's definitely a cool concept for a show, and I think they do a high quality job on it! Not sure how long they'll be able to keep it up, though...won't they run out of storylines caused by being switched at birth after awhile?

I want Adrian just off this show completely. With Grace taking up the role as "easy", there's no need to have Adrian on there. GET RID OF HER!
And I don't want to see Ben & Amy back together. I think Amy has grown up much faster than Ben has, nor do I think Ben really ever will. He'll be co-dependant with his Dad forever.
With that said, I don't really want to see Amy with Ricky, either. I think through the beginning of the show, she really had a lot of hate towards him and I think that it would rear it's ugly head eventually. But I do think that Ricky is being a great dad to John and I would like to see them continue to be a functional family.

FI and I always watch Secret Life together ha ha. I really like how they are trying to make Ricky a better person and how he rejected Karlee. I am really interested in what he will do in the next episode. I hope he and Amy work out.
I think Adrian is going to need some hospitalization and therapy. I don't think Ben would stay even if she did get pregnant again...he's just not a good guy anymore. I also have a feeling that a prenup was never signed. I just feel like the mentioned getting a prenup a lot leading up to the wedding and the Ben's dad being wealthy and Adrian's dad being a lawyer...I just have a feeling that could be a big source of drama down the line.

I think Grace and Jack would be good together if she quit being flighty/slutty before dating him. I don't think I saw the episodes or noticed the transition from church girl to not so much...how did that happen? I think if they got together at this point, she would burn him and he would turn bitter and take it out on other girls.
@pinkpaperbride: LOL at the guidance counselor thing. My Mom is a high school counselor and DEFINITELY doesn't get involved at all like this. There is more to it than just classes/college, but not the way that Beverley Mitchell's character (long live 7th heaven!) does. Jeez. So unrealistic.
I love that so many bees have jumped on this thread! I don't feel as much like a child molestor for watching this show! Hahaha.
@pinkpaperbride: yea I can see how the emmet/bay situation could get hairy... I know it will never work for the long haul, but I don't think it will mess with things in the long run... As for the future of the show, I think once they develop the characters enough it won't really make much of a difference if the story focuses on the actual fact that they were switched at birth so much as the relationships between these two families moving forward... I think it will be really interesting to see where it all goes.

I love love love the show. I watched it when it first came out a couple of years ago, but I became uninterested because it became so outrageous. Then, we got Netflix Stream, and I became hooked again! So...
I wish things between Amy and Ben had worked out. They were really perfect for each other. The same goes for Adrian(sp?) and Ricky. They would have been good together too.Even though neither happen, I'm happy where things are. As long as Ricky stays faithfull that is!Ben and Adrian should have never ever got together and more importantly gotten married. I don't blame him for leaving, but she is going to need some help.
George and Ann need to be together. They are perfect for one another, just can't see it. What is up with the whole thing with Ashley going across country. That is stupid. Grace needs to settle down, I loved her with Grant. Her and Jack were just weird. I

@HelloRaeven: I def dont think Amy and Ben should be together... He's too like immature for her or something idk what it is but I just dont like them together. He was soooo clinched on to her and never gave her space. Also I didnt like Ricky and Adrian together too much because they were basically "fuck buddies" so I dont think they could've worked out. I think so too, Amy should stay with ricky only if he stays faithful, which I think he will HOPEFULLY haha.

I watched all of the episodes netflix had streaming and then stopped there. so I'm curious-- the first time Adrian got pregnant, she ultimately decided to keep her baby (I think). did she have it? if not, then what happened?

I just watched the most recent episode and then saw this thread for the first time. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only 20 somthing watching this show! It's such an exagerated story line (or else I lived my teenage years in an alternate universe) but it's also so addicting. None of my friends watch it either.
As far as last night's episode. I like that Amy and Ricky are together and think each episode sees them grow up and come together a bit more. Adrian seemed to be such a smart girl and now she's just a disaster as is Ben. i'm not sure what the point of Ricky's mom drinking again was and it was all so awkard how the wine came over and Ben insisted to keep it even after she reminded him that she was an alcoholic and then he freaked out when she drank. Ben is becoming so hatable and he really makes bad decisions all the time, he acts like a spoiled child. Also, all of the teens have insanely open relationships with their and everyone else's parents. Especially Grace, whose storyline is finally coming into its own with her new relationship. Clearly, I've been sucked into this show.
@DarleneP: I did! Holy crap! I'm glad things worked out for ricky, although if Carlee really has issues like toby says I'm worried she might come back with a vengeance! I really hope Ben finds out about Adrian's plan in time!
@Atalanta: have you watched any of the episodes this season? She isn't the least bit interested in ricky right now, she's trying to trap ben in their marriage.

I cant wait to see whats going to happen in the next episode, they're having another school dance so we will see what happens... I think adrian is going to try and get ben drunk and have sex with him to get pregnant again... who knows or maybe Grace is going to slip and tell him or Amy might... ahhh I love mondays lmao!

I'm excited about this episode... the last one was pretty good! I'm so addicted to Adrian and Ben right now... something needs to happen though because I don't want to get bored with it.
