Weddingbee boards

So we think we picked our honeymoon spot the Secrets Capri resort at the Riviera Maya. We picked it because its small and NO KIDS are allowed lol. I just wanted to see if any bees had any reviews on the hotel or any suggestions as to what to do once we are there. WE plan to book it next week so I am super excited!

My husband and I went to Secrets Capri for our honeymoon in November 2008.  It was AWESOME!!!!  The rooms are beautiful.  We upgraded to a partial ocean view (the full ocean view was more expensive and we figured we weren't going to be spending a ton of daytime hours in the room anyway) and got a beautiful view of the Gulf Coast.  The inside of the hotel was beautiful - huge open floors and the front welcome area was so nice.  The pool was split into two seperate pools (with a wall in between), with one side being warm water and the other side a bit on the chilly side.  it was nice because if you wanted to lay around on a raft, the warm side was great, but if you got too hot, you could cool of in the chilly side.  The other thing we loved was that the pool was only 20 steps from the beach, so you could go back and forth between the ocean and pool all day.  The ocean waster, even in November, was SO WARM.  It was awesome - really clear and just beautiful.

The restaurants in the resort were great.  We went to the outside patio bar for lunch every day, and the breakfast buffet was huge (with some different things each day).  For dinner, every restaurant was great.  I'd would recommend going to the seafood place at least one night (it's upstairs in the building by the pool) and waiting for a private balcony table.  It was so romantic and we got great pictures. 

All of the staff at the hotel were so nice and friendly and helpful.  Anything you needed, they were able to find or point you in the right direction.  We spent most of our honeymoon hanging by the pool/ocean, but did do 2 excusions - one to Cancun to swim with the dolphins (totally worth it!!! but don't get the day pass to Wet and Wild - the actual water park is kind of crappy), and one to Cozumel to do a Jeep tour (we had the BEST time doing this, and there's time for snorkling and shopping - would totally recommend it). 

We also booked a couples massage for the second day we were there... the spa at Secret is just to die for... we had such a great time, in fact, that my husband requested to go back.  So we went back 2 days later for a couples combo body scrub/massage.  The hydrotherapy circut is the best... it's so relaxing and they bring you champagne and it is just bliss.
