I am looking into booking the Secrets of Vallarta Bay in Mexico. I am hesitant to book right now because I want to wait for a sale, but then again I don’t want to be left honey moonless… But yes, the reviews are awesome! We will be traveling at the end of October, so not much before you. I wanted to go to Jamaica again since we went there for a very short destination wedding to another all inclusive, but it is more expensive. We have enough wedding expenses as it is! lol Be sure to post a review for everyone else when you get back!

@MissTexasFire:

We had our honeymoon there!!  We LOVED it.  We were supposed to stay on the St. James side but got “upgraded” to the Wild Orchid side.  If you have any questions, let me know!  We just were there in December.

@MrsJX3:  Thats weird, are you sure you’re talking about Secrets Vallarta Bay? Everything I’ve read says there is the  “now amber” side and the “secrets (all adults) side. Maybe I missed something… We are staying in the preferred tower if that matters?

@erinbacher:  I am excited too!

@Nurse_Bee:  I will definitely let y’all know what I think! 95% of the reviews on trip advisor are awesome, so I think we will be pleased!

Secrets Resorts are amazing!  You should look yours up on TripAdvisor and read all the traveller’s comments because they often have great tips about which rooms are the best, which upgrades are worth paying for, best dishes in the restaurants etc…

One caution I will give you is that newer resorts are famous for having a few challenges during their first year or so of operation.  They may still be working out some of the kinks, so you might have to be patient if not everything is perfect.

@erinbacher:  My SO and I stayed there (St. James) last summer and loved it. The staff are super nice and I loved the fact that you could go kayaking/snorkeling whenever you wanted to. Definitely do the sunset dinner/photos…that was probably the best thing we did. Plus, there’s a surprise in your room when you come back! πŸ™‚ The excursions from the resort are nice too. One piece of advice….bring bug spray!! I got eaten alive by mosquitoes.
